- One of my favourite Santana tracks. This track showcases all of Santana's amazing technique (sorry, you won't find any of that here..LOL)...his suttle pulloffs...clean runs where you hear every note crystal clear.....endless sustain....beautiful choice of target notes on the chords...and of course that impossible tone that one minuite is soft and clean and then brutal & savage!!!!.....
The backing track is home made, so it won't be right, but gives an idea!

That was totally.............A MAZ ING you gave me the chills ,still got it,frankly I could hear little difference from Carlos,the tone was spot on, he always plays this different anyway,one occasion it was totally different! always loved this,even more so now.Carlos is SO gifted (so are you) he says its God's music coming through him,he's right ,it is. The Chills is the presence of God within us manifesting,the Spanish call it Duende.When you bought the Wah in, that gave me Super chills and some tears.Well done, I would love to have the backing somehow,can you please share it ?Greetings from heaven.

Good job sir! You hit most of the notes and you were off on a few. You didn't give me the chills like when Carlos plays this. Of course no one expects that but still well done. Carlos is a once in a lifetime singularity of guitar genius that is combined technique and Soul connection to Source. I very much enjoyed your version though so again good job sir!

Any tips on recreating that tone? You’re the closest I’ve heard to Santana’s tone. I recently got a Line 6 hx stomp and have been trying to make a santana patch. Both a modern tone and his classic tone. I have a prs santana se.
Thanks for your comment. I've only used the Line 6 POD v2 on this track with a wah wah pedal. I just spend ages messing with the controls till I get the sound I'm after, even though I'm never happy with it. For the Santana sound I always use the neck pup with the volume about half way on the guitar and just turn up when I want more sustain. His early classic tone is very hard to get without a mesa boogie mk 1 amp. I think the nearest I got is my Santana cover 'Your is the Light' a few years back.

Do you think the joyo emulation pedals are better than the Pod amps. I got a Pod HD myself, It`s very impressive for the price. But it`s not the easiest unit to get a good sound out of, once you do however it can sound amazing. With some tweaking in Pro tools it can really shine. I plan on recording a Santana cover soon to showcase the sound I am able to get with the Pod HD and some Waves software plugins.

The song is in the key of G There are just two chords Gmaj7 & Cmaj7. For the intro chords you just
leave the top three strings open and the song is pretty much built around the G maj scale.
