I really enjoy watching you fabricate stuff. You dont tig weld everything, and you do a really good job of explaining why and how you do things. Its always fun to watch!
Was super excited to see the mini truck getting so much love in the episode. I'm really liking your Nissan! Everything is looking really good! Great job Dave! Looking forward to seeing more.
the answer @24:20 is, the "respirator" can only do so much . Also, this channel and video series inspired me to buy a 1995 Nissan pickup out of a field, I had one as my first real car in 1998 (Kingcab XE-V6)
Hi Dave,my wife gives me our old bedsheets to use as throw blankets to cover stuff, just keep them in a tub when not being used.My wife thought you looked so cute when you took your paint mask off and you had a milk mustache!😂
Merry Christmas to you and you're family Dave!!! Thank you for sharing your life this year, it, as always, has been a source of inspiration and motivation.
Thanks for the seam sealer recommendation, I'll give that one a try for sure! Truck is looking great, first time you pull up somewhere in it and drop it to the ground is going to be a sweet feeling of reward for all the work you put in. 🤘
5:15 gotta get one of those cheese grinder type deals, _shape_ down your filler before it gets fully hard, then come back after it's been shaped and now dry and _then_ sand so you don't have to spend so much time and exertion sanding 👌🏼 Love this truck, you really don't know how jealous I am lol.... and oh.... I found you the _PERFECT_ subs for this thing when it comes to audio man..... Hopefully you've heard of the car audio company called Sundown Audio, they're extremely well known in the SPL and SQL competition scene.... well, not them exactly, but the main owner/designer of Sundown Audio's drivers built a series of subs for a small company that wanted "90's style audio, but with today's output and quality"...so they built these slick subs that would actually fit _perfectly_ with what your Hardbody looks like currently, they're bare aluminum cones, with bare aluminum baskets, and they've got bright blue cone surrounds which would match your side decals 👌🏼 (edit: and hopefully blue Mercedes style tint!!!) The company is called Sparked Innovations and the subs are called Bass Blasters lol (definitely 90s 😅) Here's a link to them, again, built by Sundown Audio, 2000w RMS, all of them, from their 10s to 15s. I think a 10 in each corner of the extended cab under the side window right in the corner angled, facing each person, in a fiberglass enclosure (easy to do, especially with your skill level, just put the T/S numbers into an enclosure building program on your PC to get the perfect ideal enclosure specs, build in partial MDF, 10" MDF rings with MDF standoffs, then cover and tack the thing in felt, a sheet, Kevlar, Carbon, whatever to get your base shape, and epoxy the 💩 outta it, sand, and either paint, wrap, coat, or polish) Amps can go in the center under the rear window, you can make it look like one enclosure with the fiberglass/Kevlar/carbon. sparkedinnovations.com/collections/bass-blaster-series-subwoofers
42 minutes in and it looks great! I used to work at a horse ranch where I wore a 3m mask every day. It was so dusty and all. I probably went through a 1 or 2 hundred masks and filters over 14-15 years. Anyway cheers brother and happy 2025🙂
Dave, I'm sure you know this but when I paint I always start spraying the hard to get to corners and stuff first. That way when you spray the rest you're not trying to slam paint into the hard spots creating a run. Keep it real!
The roll pan looks great! After you shot the bed, it looks like you have been huffing paint out of the brown bag. It always make me nervous welding around the gas tank, and certainly watching you weld around it!
Hey Bud it’s Brandon, Im the one who stopped you the other day when you were leaving the ORV park. Mini trucks looking good dude. I have a 89 W150 that I’m working on. I’m Gen 3 swapping it and putting it on bags. I used to own a hotrod shop in Paso Robles back when you and Fred started dirt every day Lol. Dude I have a bunch of half done race cars and trucks in my shops out at the racetrack in Airway. Hit me up if you or anyone is ever broken down at the ORV park or out towards Airway. I got 5 full auto shops and all the tools you could ever need. I’d love to up my fab skills. If you ever need an extra set of hands and love to learn from you and up my game. I’m 40 and I’ve built a lot of cars, but my fab skills aren’t in the same hemisphere as yours😂 Anyways dude I know your busy so if you don’t respond No worries brother, I’m sure a lot a dudes hit you up. Love your life, Build on bro
Dave you can reduce pinholes in your bondo by changing the way you mix it. You're introducing air into the bondo while mixing it. I stir it rather than folding it while mixing. It takes some practice to thoroughly mix bondo without introducing air into it but it can be done.
Wow this is awesome content i am glued and learning alot. Your channel is better than Dirt everyday even though that show was cool this TH-cam channel is cooler.
I wonder if they still sell those dope azz molded acrylic rear windows with the inset license plate area with lighting like they had back in the 90s.... I always wanted one, but I drove a 93 'Dime and didn't think it flowed well with the sheer boxy design of the S10's....but it would look sick on the Hardbody since it has just the perfect amount of "routered edge" look off the sharp angles....but I'm sure you'll just sink it into the gate 😅
@@thedirtheadshed i had a redneck bodyshop for 10 yrs. That was my go to,to start with. It saved so much time. Let the runs be. Back drag them out with a razor blade, sand and buff. Just telling my experience. Like watching your progress.keep it up
You old school mini trucker like me but drag blocks help save your roll pan. If you drag and throw sparks down in Mexico just keep an eye on how much they have been ground down.
I have a stainless steel header that should fit your nissan. I bought it thinking that it would fit my 4wd, but it didn't. If you want it, it is yours. I would be happy to send it.
You should throw a disclaimer over the bit where you welded without a mask saying "don't do this". Just because people are jackasses and could try and sue you, saying "he said it was ok" because you didn't clearly say you don't recommend others doing this. Feels like you shouldn't have to, but here we are.
I love this truck build series. Also you don't get pinholes from mixing filler. They come from applying to much filler at one time. Not pushing hard enough while applying it
I really enjoy watching you fabricate stuff. You dont tig weld everything, and you do a really good job of explaining why and how you do things. Its always fun to watch!
Glad you dig it. Hope they aren’t too slow paced
Heck no, getting to see whats happening is great. I dont know much about welding, and the slower pace is refreshing @@thedirtheadshed
@@thedirtheadshedthe slower pace helps me understand all the steps and what it actually takes
Long video, cool. Enjoy the little Nissan, its a cool little project. The fab work rocks. Keep em coming, and we'll keep following and watching.
Seeing this project coming together, is inspiring. Thanks for filming
Was super excited to see the mini truck getting so much love in the episode. I'm really liking your Nissan! Everything is looking really good! Great job Dave! Looking forward to seeing more.
Man, that mineral gray looks SO GOOD against the black on the chassis!!
You are so talented in so many ways Dave! Your get to work attitude is very inspiring! Awesome video. Love this build!
Glad you’re enjoying it. Thanks!

This and Mazgrande are my favorite trucks and I’m super happy for you to get this project rolling again! Super rad Dave!
Great video! I'm glad you are back working on this truck. It's so cool!
One thing I love about your work style is just getting stuff done. I sometimes get bogged down on my own projects because of “analysis paralysis.”
Man, talk about a lot of progress. Congratulations and on getting it closer to done. Always here for nissan, or mini content.
You’re the man Dave.
Ahh yeah!!! Some Minitruckin' Friday... Turnin' out clean & RAD! Dave... I'm diggin' it!!! 🤘
Love your eye for all the little detail work!
Thanks. Just trying to make it last
One of my favorite channels to watch 🎉
Thanks Dave. I really enjoyed this Nissan project.😊
That's a ton of progress on the Nissan ! It's lookin' great man and I really like how the paint turned out. Mega episode
I love watching your builds. Just a cool guy in a cool shop making cool stuff. That mini truck is really turning out bomb-diggity.
Those shock mounts are great for fabricators. I've seen them used on everything. Not a cheap as they once were though.
This and a VGG episode within hours of each other. Love your work Fellas.

Love seeing this truck come together
Same. Next week should be good for it
I wish you would have been producing videos in the 70s, iv'e learned so much , thank you.
I’m pretty glad people are getting some use out of these. I’m enjoying making the videos
Amazing work man as always! Im hoping to see the raptor liner paint matched to the side stripes tho in the bed 🙏🏼
Dave for stirring up your paint. You need one of those holders that goes into your Sawzall. And shakes the bejesus out of the can.

Great vid, love seeing the progress
Love love this truck. That graphic on the side is so sweet. Would be cool to do the bed liner in teal to match the graphic.
Thanks for still making mini truck content Dave. Definetly hard to find anything from here in Australia 😢

Just hooked a amazon 220 forced air heater for 350, it is amazing in this northwest weather.

Bro! Get the curved cheese grader file and cut it to shape before it hardens. Saves so much sanding.
I have some. I use them when the time is right

I really like doing bodywork. But don't tell everyone.
Yup.
great job Dave! are you taking Christmas off? or using the day off to get stuff done?
the best way to enjoy a truck is to make it your own
Damn so, will you time travel back to the drag and destroy days?
I wasn’t big in that scene. Throwing some sparks is one thing. But those years were kinda silly
@@thedirtheadshed oh, looking back at them, you are 100% right. I doubt I'll drag the current truck at all these days.

Drag blocks keep the rockers off the ground. Thats counter productive.
What brand seam sealer were you using there? I appreciate ya!
U-pol fantastic. Got it at oreilly
Yeee Yeee 😊😊😊😊

Not to beat a dead horse but what about the finish to that mustang II
Is that bed going to collect water?
