      You do not want a traumaless child. Trauma builds muscle via exercise. Trauma builds social skills via experience. It makes you not be the most boring person imaginable. Trauma is pain, and the best, most humble, generous, successful and interesting people out there have had their fair share of pain.

    The movie Limitless is essentially the common experience of most people with undiagnosed AD(H)D once they have reached diagnosis and entered titration at long last. I know because I always related to this movie, but since my own diagnosis, more than ever. It changed my life. Medication exists for a reason. But it’s not a screaming endorsement either, it shows the issues of drugs like stimulants and the negative side effects, especially that first morning after his meds wear off, and the constant threat of medication running out without a follow up makes you wonder if your life rests on it, etc., It’s a strange world being AD(H)D. You fluctuate between feeling genuinely disabled, and genuinely “limitless”.

    • @BusinessWolf1
      @BusinessWolf1 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Or you can trick yourself into thinking the symptoms are overcomeable, and do so much difficult shit so often using lifelong learned strategies that you build out your frontal lobe. The brain is plastic, it molds and grows. After months of doing more and more hard shit my executive function straight up improved. I wasn't able to keep it up due to very external factors, but I'm trying to get there again through exercise, diet, less consumption and other obvious stuff.

    • @Abzuhuzwn
      @Abzuhuzwn หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@BusinessWolf1 I would agree with this one hundred percent. The level of reading and focusing because of the meds has allowed me to devour 800 page books with absolute comprehension in 2-3 days. If you're going any faster than that you have a photographic memory, and those really don't even exist. But my reading speed went from something stupid like 130 wpm because I had to keep rereading pages over and over again and my raw reading speed was pretty slow at that, to 450 wpm and I barely have to go back and re read now. I noticed too that off meds, on occasion when that has happened, I have had much higher levels of concentration and cognitive capacity than before the meds. I have been working 2 jobs including at a bar as well which I never would have pushed myself to do before and the diligence I am capable of now genuinely shocks me. I practically needed my partner to drag me out of bed last year. It's so funny because I always felt internally like the kind of person who could wake up at 4 in the morning and drive cross country to get somewhere early, now I just actually do it instead of thinking it, and I don't have music on, it's usually an audiobook.

    I love the movie but I don't like how the hype is used. It's just fiction, the movie is not even coherent because otherwise there is no action or plot. The guy remains stupid, so the movie can happen. Kind of simple, you are so smart, don't ask the mob for a loan, you have your rich friends, easy legal bad loans, a normal bank, whatever, you just trade patiently and wait a bit more until the amount of money is big enough. Even if you ask money to a Russian gangster, you don't forget to pay once you are earning all that money... As I've said, just fiction, a good way to create a nice story.

    If past trauma is affecting you, I highly recommend you try transcendental meditation (see free TH-cam videos). If you know anything about ACEs scores, I scored 8. TM saved me & that's not hyperbolic.
