switched out LEDs all over my 2007 GT200 and have had great luck and not had to retro fit anything but just put the bulbs in and they work like a charm...easy on the battery too...kudos Mitch...as always man...you're a good dude
I have a 2015 primavera 50 and i think it runs off engine magneto and heard LED maybe hard to install.. it has H4 now... will these work? id consider capacitor in circuit...
Jey Mitch, with my headlight it is a socket type just like a blinker globe. There's a grey plastic adapter that it fits into that then fits into the headlight.
Old post, but here it goes as a reference to others. Most probably it's a BA20d socket. Usually set from factory for 25/25 W bulbs (high beam/low beam) or the 35/35 W version. Worth mention the 25W bulb, tend to be used on the 50cc's. While the 35W usually are found on the larger displacements. Although physically interchangeable. One should be careful when doing so. Avoid overloading the circuit. ;-) This socket has 2 small locating tabs and it's not interchangeable with H4, etc.
How much brighter is the LED than the stock bulb? Is there a noticeable difference? I remember where you had changed a bulb on another Vespa to the one with the 'angel' ring type (2" MOTORCYCLE BI-XENON HID KIT Angel Devil Eye Headlight Projector Len+ballast) and was curious to this upgrade as the other one you had to take the clear lens off the headlamp to properly fit whereas this one it just takes a little tweaking on the backside.
Great clip Mitch, as always. My '09 125 Fly doesn't have an H4 bulb. It has a BA20d or 2S standard incandescent bulb. I haven't found any upgrade kits or how-to's. Any suggestions on upgrading this to H4?
First of all, thank you for this wonderful video, I have 2 questions: - I placed this bulb at a motorcycle mechanic but remove it rubber boot cover - why did you flip the purple and black connectors? thank you in advance
Hi Mitch first I would like to thank you for your great videos they are really very helpful. As you recommended to me once I bought a piaggo fly 2017 but I have a problem and wonder if you could help me . In my scooter I cannot turn the headlight off so even when I drive in daylight the light is always on and sometimes the weather is very hot and light and its cover got very hot and I am afraid that it will start melting at some point. My question is is there a way to install a switch to make the head light goes off ? I mean is there an alternative for installing a led lamp ? Unfortunately I don’t have the tools to install a Led lamp at the moment. Many thanks in advance
You're welcome Mohammad!! that's normal.... the motorcycles and scooters headlight always on... never off... that's law. I live in hot place too you are good to go
The orientation of the LED chips look wrong? They're facing the sides of your reflector when they should be in a top-bottom facing orientation. maybe you should try turning it so that the chips face top and bottom of your reflector. that explains the "bow" shaped dipped beams; seen on the grass.
i try to plug and play in my bike the bulb is damage after 5 minute I turn on the light , what wrong ? did the AC power make my buld damage? the smell is like burn out when the led bulb was damage
yes it's normal. as the voltage is low on idle. if you add a capacitor in parallel to the led, it should smooth out the flicker. probably want one about as thick as your thumb or something half decent in size. or get some from an old computer power supply or something (observing polarity of course)👍
Hi @@hassanalbasir794 It was already explained above. In parallel (to the voltage rail) and the rating of the caps must be higher than 12v. If that didn't make sense, I recommend you not to do it. I found that it never worked that good anyway as the alternator is quite weak on that model and in future I would just connect it directly to the battery with a switch. Or buy a higher output halogen bulb that exists, it is the best simplest fix for the weak stock headlight.
hi mitch since i had a new regulator fitted i keep blowing builds had it to a specilist recon all is well , told me to get the the more expensive builbs , i do not no what to do, have a px 200
sick! I'm considering doing this as it is very nice and I'm not fond of the stock light in my Piaggio New Fly 50, btw. Is there any chance you happen to have a proper picture of a Piaggio New Fly's sidestand??? I have the parts but I can't find a blueprint or picture that shows me in what order I can install it. Thanks in advance!
Thanks, yeah for sure! I couldn't get to Fly right now but at 1:12 in this video th-cam.com/video/XoZaRZAgXQQ/w-d-xo.htmlm12s... you can see it holds with a screw... I don't think you need anything else? If you are not be able to reach the side stand mount... this video give you idea what it looks like... th-cam.com/video/9g-_c02U7E0/w-d-xo.htmlm6s and make sure read the description for more info too...

Mitch , you have a unique gift for teaching via simple demonstrations .Thank you again .
It's better than most of the others using 1000 words.
The lazer band at the rear is a good idea. All vehicles should have that as an orientation help for the other traffic participants.
Mitch You are a great guy with a great hobby. i love your videos! Thank you very much (google translator)
Latex gloves are an ingenious solution, good thinking!

Good job keep it up? I keep learning more from you master Mitch 🙏
Hey ,do you need the converter? Or can i just wire it directly??
I'm slappy, but you deserve an Oscar
Good work bro 👍
Thank you so much 😀
Any chance of doing a video for an mp3 500 led headlight upgrade.??..thank you....

Thanks for the video!
I hope that really cool taillight he has on there will be featured on another upgrade video coming soon !
Oops! Never mind! He already did it! Watch it here. th-cam.com/video/jbMIL3_3tqQ/w-d-xo.html
Great videos Mitch.
What laser system are you using?
WOW! That led is mana from heaven! Oh, by the way, what is that "red bar" behind the Fly at the end of the video?
Thanks! here's video I installed the laser thing th-cam.com/video/jbMIL3_3tqQ/w-d-xo.html
Okay, ich muss auch mal auf LED umbauen =).
Very nice!
Jey Mitch, with my headlight it is a socket type just like a blinker globe. There's a grey plastic adapter that it fits into that then fits into the headlight.
What I would do is to cut that piece out and buy H4 socket to modify to fit in the headlight... but I am not sure what the hole look like...

Hey Mitch! Would this bulb work with a buddy 125??

Yes
Do you maybe have a alternative light because I can’t find this light anywhere?
Did you click on link in description box? Let me know
Yes, I clicked on it, but it says that it’s not available
Hi mitch! Great upgrade! I am just wondering if this H4 Led bulb upgrade would fit a Honda cb125e. Do you have any idea? Thanks.

Thanks Chris! Hmm is the plug same like H4 or it uses socket type thing?
Is that battery operated?

Tried that and it wouldn't work right :-/
the light bulbs aren't available there can i buy them somewhre else
A lot of work... But worth it. Looks good!
Yup, thanks!
i try to plug and play in my bike the bulb is damage after 5 minute I turn on the light , what wrong ? did the AC power make my buld damage? the smell is like burn out when the led bulb was damage
how do they do led conversions on the main lights on the Honda elite ? been tryna find a video
wait ? whats that red line on the ground, looks like a cool safety feature !
Yeah!! It's awesome! Here's video about it th-cam.com/video/jbMIL3_3tqQ/w-d-xo.html

@@phildawe7172 where would the capacitor exactly be located in the complete circuit?

Can i just put a 12v led on a old scooter speedometer or i still need a resistor ?
LED bulb should have resistor built in already
I even don't have this halogene bulb in my Aprilia SR50 Street
Latex gloves melt, are they the best material to use to keep dust out? What about inflammable house insulation?
After about 2,000 miles I worked on that bike again and checked the latex glove, still looking good... inflammable house insulation is a great idea!
How much this LED bulb
3:15 - If you were here we would have put that on the lathe and turned it down in a few seconds.
Can you do a bulb to led headlight change on an mp3 500. Thanks
Of course, if you give him a MP3 ...
The bulb is fitted wrong. The leds should be facing down an up respectivly. You got it turned 90 degrees

have a good one!
Nice clean job
Thanks Brian!
Dapat di mo na nilagay ang rubber kasi di na makalabas ang init ng heatsink at yung hangin ng fan.
Have in mind that he revs it all the time, it is probably going to flicker and die on low revs.
this is 4t scooter, it get 12v direct from battery, so no
Complicatissimo... very difficult
Orientation plain wrong
Too expensive!
меняй обратно - свет плохой!
Faltu taim pas he
What a pain!!
Can it be installed in a tao tao?
