    Love this!!! I did it today with "Red Flag" conditions. Worked AWESOME. I sprung for 4 lids for 5gal bucket at $2ea and clothesline cord.

    Bury the legs a foot in sand, pour water in hole as you add sand. It'll hold in 20mph winds.

    Seems like a clever idea. But at 2:13 "I didn't even dig mine out. I just pulled the rope"... doesn't seem very strong if you could just pull the rope? Thanks for sharing!

      Yeah, that was my wife. She only had her frisbee in the sand about 4-6 inches. I recommend putting the at least a foot or more down. You will break the frisbee before you could ever pull it out when its that far in.

    4 grocery bags full of sand and and a prusik knot from your cords for adjustability Fast n easy. Works like a charm!

    One improvement. Cut two “slots” on two opposing sides to make it easy to wrap the rope around the frisbee for storage.

    I use a dollar store plastic auger anchor for my 6' umbrella, first digging a hole and filling it with water and sand after screwing the auger into the bottom. As a backup in high winds I use parachute cord tied to the ribs with the other end tied to the umbrella bag filled with sand, with 4 half hitches on one side and a taut line hitch on the other.

    I like this idea. Not sure I'd trust a dollar store frisbee to keep a knot from stretching the plastic enough to let the knot slip through. Maybe reinforce the hole by gluing large washers on either side of the hole?

    • @herecomethelankfords1596
      @herecomethelankfords1596  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I like that idea. My theory is, if the holes and frisbee are in jeopardy of breaking due to wind, the canopy isn't safe to be up. We just take it down if it gets to be that windy.

      Jesus paid it all, all to him I owe. I love it! We only use the frisbees and never had it blow away. I can't stress enough though, if the wind is dangerously strong we don't set up the canopy.

    • @JesusPaidItAll
      @JesusPaidItAll 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks bro, I am gonna give it a try. I forgot we had a sport brella, so I am gonna try it on that first. I found this old, cheap aluminum pot with a hole in the handle. I think that might work good too. It can double as a shovel as well.
      The big canopy does seem a lot better. I checked out that website you mentioned below at rticoolers.com but didn't see any tents. Gonna keep looking though.

      We use a 10x10 poptent so all 13 of my family can sit in the shade if needed. Unfortunately the Augbrella isn't big enough. We've had it up in sustained 25 mph winds, and it is rock solid. If it the wind gets above that we just take it the whole canopy down. No sense in risking it fly away and injuring someone. Thanks for the comment!
