The mediterranean is uncharted territory for me in UBOAT, have never gone there before, that's why I chose it for this campaign...so I don't have the slightest idea of what's ahead of me in terms of missions and orders... I'm also excited to see what comes out of this career :)
I vividly recall playing SH4 with the Trigger Maru mod. Late in the war it was virtually impossible to remain on the surface during the day due to the aircraft attacks. It was only viable to surface at night.
ohhhh yeah. Know the feeling. And in Uboat it's even trickier. Later in the war planes get the Leigh Light, so it actually ends up being safer to stay surfaced during the day and dived during the night...
@@Kim-uu8fc I've done a couple offline careers with the November 1944 start and trust me...is haaaaaaaaaaaaard :D. In fact once 1942 kicks in radar becomes a more and more common thing in aircraft and escorts so that's when things begin turning into a real challenge :)
The Uzo doesn't help see anything on mobile at night :( Best bet is to use your editing software and make a setting that cranks the gamma to a viewable level, I remember wolfpack talking about how he does it once in a cold waters videos some years back.
yeah, when I saw the uploaded result, I knew. In YT's defense (for once), the night was so incredibly dark I had trouble seeing the ship on the computer myself... and the ship was even more blind than I was. I switched the searchlight on at 500m and they still had not spotted my sub, that says it all... Meaning, even with original footage in a mobile it'd made no difference. I'll try and hunt for the gamma tips you mentioned from Wolfpack, see what I can do to improve things, but on instances like that one...it was so, so, so dark, that changing gamma settings might have ended in a totally whited out screen. It's the nature of the beast, I guess...
Is there a video where you explain how you manually calculate intercept course on the map? Also, when you detect a ship and it tells you its bearing, is that the direction the ship is moving?
Yes, look in the tutorials playlist, the one named "how to intercept targets". And no, bearing is just where the target is located respective to you. To determine target course you need several bearings over time. Watch the video, you'll understand it perfectly :)
In this video you boarded several ships relatively close to Italy. Is it possible to put a prize crew on board, capture a ship and have it sail back to a friendly port? Or is that not possible in this game?
no, not possible in the game. I also think it was never done in real life, not by Uboats. Surface ships and raiders did capture ships several times and sent them home with prize crews, but Uboats...not that I can remember.
In real life Germany had the some of the first night visions they were powered with red lens instead of green , Germany still has some of the best engineer's. We use there weapons in our military just like our mbt.
I'm subscribing and riding along for this series buddy. This full release has me losing sleep :
Glad to hear, welcome aboard!!. And yep... this game really hooks you up, doesn't it? 😊
Really liked the video. Can't wait to see what interesting missions we'll see in this campaign

@@ramjb Still dislike the TH-cam compression...

@@ramjb I'm looking forward to play the late game in the war, I've yet to get past 1941 so far. Thanks for the video.
