I am 65...so take this fer what it is worth. When I was about 14 my Dad and I started hunting for a project car. I had my heart set on a 34 3 window.. Remember now...this was when phones had dials and were plugged into the wall.. We found some ads for car, and followed some leads, and Dad walked away from several. They were all in better shape than the cars I see you bringing back to life. He had the skill, and the know-how, he just worked to much and we would have never been able finish one. We argued a lot, and he regularly reminded me of the dozens of machined Auburn dashes he personally torched out of the whole cars whenever he found one in a boneyard. "I shoulda drug the whole thing home" We wound up with a 40 Sedan that was serving as the roof of a chicken coop, but was solid. I still have it, the 45 yr old black lacquer paint is getting checked, but I have no intention of painting it. I admire your skill and dedication. You are saving cars now that wouldn't have been given a second look back in those days. I still want a coupe, I have a hot flathead he built stashed away....but the cars have priced themselves out of the market for me.
Always amazed by the scope of the projects you take on! Us amateurs are blown away by your skills with fabrication! Caps are awesome! Fits perfectly! Don't paint the RPU! It's perfect and tells the story of where it has been and the sum of its parts. Whatever you opt for, it will be grand. Go RAC Garage, keep moving forward!
Concerning getting a bit more heat. Just place a determined size cardboard in front of radiator. Naturally you can get a size you will be happy with. My 65 Volvo had a chain Attached to a pull up cloth shade to pull up in front of radiator. It was all spring loaded for pulling up and release tension on chain to retract back down. Worked great !
I had a radiator cover I used last winter with speed holes cut out until I got the desired temperature. 32 grille messed that up this year. Looking for a winterfront grille to put behind the grille
Yes ! Paint it blue with black fenders I have a 31 Ford coupe and would like to paint it with those colours and could get a good idea of what it would look like
Washington Blue is the only color I see at car shows that makes me stop and say "I gotta get a closer look at that one." And that seat is perfect, it would be great in any RPU from a jalopy to a concours resto...
I'm surprised at some of the negative comments you get. The way your plans are for the RPU are spot on,if you paint and chrome it like a show car it wouldn't have any character just another show car that you can trailer to car shows. Keep on keeping on.
i really dig your truck now with the fenders and hood and man the wheels look great! washington blue with the black fenders and brwon seats will look right on. hope you do a video on the paint job. also, man i wished i made it to the ty-rods meet.
you could always put the old lady in a good army green with the black fenders. Oh and, i like it, wish i could buy it but the funds are needed for house repairs.😐
Paint that truck..black fenders and the rest, either wine, green or as your choice a tan or light brown. Sure would look super sharp. Also a sweet looking hood ornament would just finish off this little jewel. ❤ Look forward to the finishing this little truck. Best to you from central Florida. 😊
tractor supply i think would have tractor paint much cheaper and yet a great product. and hell yeah, some fresh black on that puppy would look nothing short of fine
My brother was a really good mechanic taught by the U.S. Army but explain to me why he drove a 70's Pontiac Grand Prix without a reverse gear W.T.F. So this'll explain why I'm left with a bad taste in my mouth when I think about a man with your automotive abilities who doesn't want to drive an exceptional ride if anyone deserves it it's you . By all means paint it I may comment later though you know
Something about cobblers children. When I was still working in the resto shop around Y2K I drove a 70 Kingswood Estate without reverse for like a year because I didn't want to work on my own cars after hours.
I like your video's and you definitely have talent, however your off the cuff remark's about Kindig-It ( trying to remember what there are called was childish ) It does't reflect well on you. Cheers
The fact that you were bothered by this astounds me. You should know my channel is a “shoot from the hip” unscripted video blog. You shouldn’t be surprised that I couldn’t remember something.
Please try not to say "You know"... We don't know, that's why you're expecting it to us ! Also "Like" is just an overused trendy fill word ! Just my take on an otherwise interesting channel ! ...Newk from Kentucky

You have the right idea. Blue scuffed body and bed, black on the fenders, running boards, hood and grill. go with it, you can't lose.

Enjoyable update - short and sweet.

Like the idea of Washington blue on the pickup!
Nice project! Looks like a 35 body with 36 front sheetmetal.
Travis, love your shop ute. it really looks like a jughead (Archie's cartoon) ute now.
The old Truck would look good in Red Oxide..
A paint job is needed now for your pickup
Those fenders will rub out a bit. Polish em when you paint it
Painting the pickup would be a great idea I'd like to see that do it
That Washington blue is my favorite also
Eastwood has some really nice paint that you might be able to tent and it's designed to go on with the brush.
Try just priming it, Jack, RI, USA

Yep, Farmall red from Tractor Supply, they also have a nice shade of off white.
Good review.
Blue and black doesn't go with a brown seat, paint it green or tan or anything that will blend with btown
Literally stock A’s had blue body. Black fenders. And brown/tan interiors 😂. But 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Good trade Pete 👍
I like those spider caps
Awesome 👍
I love Washington blue that's what my dash is in the 36
Shiny insert !
Thanks 4 making video
Pagac Walks

Red oxide works for me
