- Sooooo I may have gone a bit crazy buying stuff for my first year of university! I hope you enjoy this #backtoschool #backtouniversity haul!
Guys guys guys - I know my accent changes so much when I’m with my family! When I’m filming on TH-cam I subconsciously use my ‘phone’ voice, the same voice I use at school and around people not from the Black Country. For some reason when I’m with my family my accent just comes out - the same happens when I’m upset or angry or just feeling any intense emotion!
I promise it’s not a conscious thing - I’m proud of my accent, it just seems to change depending on who I’m talking to!

I'm going into my 4th year at uni, so I'll give you a bit of advice: you don't need to take 9 mugs and 10 glasses. I know you said they'll look nice on show but you'll struggle to store them, as kitchen space is limited, especially if you're in catered halls.. and the more things you take, the more likely they're going to get "borrowed" and you wont get them back. The sad reality of communal living! Also double check with your halls if your'e allowed a kettle in your room, as some universities have strict policies about them due to the fact they create steam and can set off fire alarms! I know at my uni they're not allowed and can be confiscated! But great video! Hope you have a fab time at uni!

You should get an Oxford pubs map that you can colour in when you’ve been to the pubs, my brother had one when he was at Oxford and I always coloured it in when I went to visit him 😂 idk maybe your brother or sister might like to do that when they visit you. be careful with the kettle- lots of unis dont like them and my friends scout took hers off her at Oxford so you may want to put it in your wardrobe xx
Going into my third year (year abroad for me) and when you were talking about cutlery it made me laugh. It’s because you will start with a 33 piece set and leave with a knife, fork and two spoons (weird but it happens to everyone😂😂)

If you’re going to have a shared bathroom then I would recommend taking some old flip flops to wear in the shower!! It might just be me being a clean freak but I literally never went in the shower without them on, or walked around my halls with bare feet 😅
I recommend you buy, another duvet cover set (maybe cheaper one) - you never know when you have to change them! a lamp, more tupperware/storage containers for food (biscuits/snacks/fruit etc.) tin opener, knife (fruit/salad/etc.), cutlery,

Ahhh UNI shopping can be so much cheaper when you start with places like Wilko, Home Bargains and B&M bargains for the little bits and then spend a bit more on bedding etc!! X

Defo good idea investing in good bedding eve. In the winter when it’s cold you wanna cuddle up in some nice soft bedding. I bought a 2 pack from next home for £50 and my sheets were £12 each. It’s so worth it cuz now I use it at home cuz it’s that nice and not gone to waste

Take it from someone who is in the last year of uni.(me) TAKE CARE OF WHAT YOU EAT. I went to college only knowing how to cook pasta and eggs and I started eating out,or cheap(very caloric) and I got fatter. One year 22 pounds that I'm struggling to lose right now... So please learn how to cook and what to eat especially when you will be stressed with school and anything you can put in your mouth will be good enough

After going to uni for three years, I'd highly recommend getting a teddy bear mattress enhancer from Dunelm. It's not the cheapest thing to buy for uni, but definitely makes horrible, uncomfortable uni mattresses feel nicer and eliminates uni mattress backache. Absolutely love this video though - love a good homeware haul x
top tip! that corkscrew you got isn’t actually also a bottle opener! the top looks like it is but it’s plastic so it’s not! (figured that out the hard way when i was in uni 😂)

This is bringing me back feeling so nostalgic. I'm going back to uni this sept to do a second degree, I got my kettle taken away from me in halls and got it back at the end of the year :( some girl in my halls had a hamster and every time we had an inspection she used to hide it in the wardrobe with clothes over the top!!

Not sure about everyone elses Ikea but the one near me does huge boxes with like 'everything you need for uni' in it... they look super good if you cba to buy everything seperate
At my uni, the doors in halls were fire doors so they were super heavy and my sheep door stop in first year didn't work! so maybe buy a small plastic doorstop that goes under the door too in case the fox one doesn't work!
My sister got a mini fridge for her room so she could keep her own milk, drinks and bits of food and things as she had a shared kitchen x

I dont think theres much advice you can give for year 10. When i was in year 10 i always revised for my mini tests and assessments and i really recommend you do that it will help you so much. Its not very stressful unless you stress about mocks easily. Just enjoy yourself because year 11 will be quite stressful so enjoy school whilst you can

I would recommend taking more than 2 coasters for when people come in your room for tea and a chat or drinks or something!! This is a small thing but something I found at uni 😂
