Cheers james. We are in lockdown again here in the UK. We got told today we can't go into college to demonstrate practicals so i was looking for videos of this demo. I loved how you got so much physics into this. Loads of things i hadn't seen before. I didn't even have that demo kit. Just a steel rod, ring and coil

Hello, could you advise the input power of the signal generator you used for the ring launcher?

Sorry, what if we use a ferromagnetic ring instead of aluminum or copper?

It will get attracted toward primary coil and would not lift above like others

Hey, thanks for this very helpful and engaging video ! Can you please tell me where (online) you purchased the apparatus. I'd like to try it on my own.

If executed oppositely, inside-out, and with many times higher power, this is the principle of the can crusher right? The same force also propels induction motors if I'm not mistaken.
    The power of repulsive fields!

I wonder what would happen if you tried that a meter down in sea water.

James is using an apparatus made by Pasco Scientific. Co. www.pasco.com/products/lab-apparatus/electricity-and-magnetism/magnetic-fields/em-8661

Why isn't this old forgotten technology used for free electricity today? Is the electromagnetic radiation too toxic?
