Correction: I use GENOA 50%, under the entire Main and up the entire mizzen, if it is built more, then a Jib and 3 reefs of the main and under the mizzen

the yacht is trimmed up nicely... Powering along... Looked like a passage to talk about for a few years to come... In fact, the whole journey has been quite the adventure...

Hello! Guys, I just watched your video.
I can see a young girl whose face DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING GOOD at some moments. 🤣
I tell you, I filmed the video on TV to see it better and I could feel the permanent construction of wind, it was blowing hard, YOU SHOULD NOT TAKE THE RISK.
I SEE that you have a Cheoy Lee 41' ketch, a beautiful and seaworthy boat, because in that situation you made the maneuver for a Sloop 70% Genoa and 2 reefs in the Main, you would have put 3, but it is a Ketch.
I'll tell you how I would have done: 50% Genoa and the entire the mizzen sail it works as a rudder and stabilizes the boat, if there is more wind construction, then ONLY GENOA AT 70%
BUT THAT PASSAGE WAS MAGNIFICENT, GREAT. Congratulations! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The problem on our boat is we can’t use our hydrovane self steering when point up with the mizzen as the sail interferes with the vane .

Nice video Jay & Kenna. The noise in the mic actually helped us viewers get the feel for how it was out there. I was wondering what the wind speeds were.........had to be 30 or over ? I was going to ask about sport fishing and then, wham, there you were doing it and then, in the next instant, it's Cooking with Jay on Channel 6 ! I'm glad to see the on deck safety gear. Things can happen when you don't expect them. Jay, you're a salty sailor and a tough one at that. I know you're preparing for the future but, just passing along my hopes for continued safe journeys and fair winds. Thank you again for your work at video, editing, cooking tips, garage tips and for sharing ! 🤩 Had to come back and edit this because I left out words giving Kenna credit where due. Kenna, you have come a LONG ways and I know Jay agrees ! Its a credit to your abilities as a newborn sailor that you two work as a team to sail Sitka wherever you have been and I'm confident you will do very well wherever you two decide to go. You two are awesome !

Randy!!! Your comment never fail to make us smile!! We are so grateful to have you in our corner as we adventure around this crazy world! As for the wind speed, our wind odometer broke about a year ago when a pelican decided he wanted to land ontop of it 😂😩 SO we can never actually get an accurate reading but Jay says it was between 30-35 easily! Thank you for your kind words regarding both of us, it really truly does help us to keep at this no matter what! Cheers to you Randy and all your immense love, support and good humour! See you next week!

For someone who likes to sail, driving a sailboat to a paradisiacal place, and even more so if it is in difficult conditions, is as much or more rewarding than the stay in that place. If sailing on a sailboat bothers you, there are more comfortable, faster and cheaper ways to travel

To balance the boat.m since we can’t use the mizzen with the hydrovane!!

Have you tried everything for seasickness? There's pills, patches, gummies..even some stuff you stick up your butt! I don't know if it works but it might be fun to try lol.

All of thee above!!!! I found ginger tea really helps if I get bad but other than that I find just training your body in how to deal with your surroundings is most beneficial! Thanks for the recommendations and for watching 😊
