And Ariel's entire team was trying to "TRAP" Eric. They were trying to get him to kiss her, basically trapping him into a Marriage that he might not even wanted, because he didn't who Ariel was. So if anyone should get a consent, should it be Eric instead? It takes two to tango, it takes two people to kiss, why everything is to be placed on Eric's responsibility alone? I have heard a lot of racists say that any singer can sing her song and that Disney chose her because she’s black. BS. I worked at a piano bar in Manhattan. I saw numerous Broadway singers come in to sing for fun, including Part of Your World. They are all amazing singers and I am not trying to put them down, but none of them stood out in the way that Halle did for this movie. People denying her qualifications, skill, and talent are lying to themselves. I have heard this song a thousand times at work and I’m sure the directors in this movie auditioned hundreds of girls. Halle got the part because she was the best one. So get over her skin color.

I would love to see the cast on another project, I just watched the movie yesterday and I just think the cast are really perfect for each characters that make me could related to each of them with their background story and how they potrayed them. I also love in every interview they have similar vibe with their character in the movie, just like Javier and Melissa who like to tease and joke around with each other like a sibling in every interview but adore and compliment each other to the fullest when they need to be serious 😄

I thought the movie was beautiful, and could tell ot would be good from the trailer, some people are bound to complain because they're bored and they grew up with the original.
I finally watched this when it went on sale on Vudu. The Little Mermaid was always my favorite Disney movie and I absolutely LOVED this version. Halle was amazing! Jonah looked EXACTLY like the cartoon Eric but I wasn't fond of his singing. Sebastian was voiced very well but not as good as the cartoon, in that, Sebastian had some bass in his voice, but this guy was still great! Halle's voice and look was amazing! I absolutely adored her in this. And when you think about it, she had to act without speaking for a big chunk of the movie and to be able to express all of the emotions that she needed to get across while not being able to talk, and that's the sign of a great actor. I didn't like Eric's singing voice, and while Awkwafina played Scuttle fine, I hated her little extra song the gave her. But overall, I give this an 8 out of 10. Definitely will be watching this again. "Kiss the Girl" was still my favorite scene, I just wish they could have found a deeper voice for Sebastian. Flounder, in my opinion, was better here than in the animated movie.

*SPOILERS* The movie was so much more than i had hoped it would be!! Great casting! Especially for scuttle! She was perfect for that role! There were a few things i would have changed but i definately think its going to be a classic! SPOLIERS! things i would have changed! 1. Erics song was poorly written and wayyyyy to dramatic acting from him. 2. The entire "body language" verse from "Poor Unfortunate Souls" was taken out! which i totally understand that disney didnt want the message to be looks instead of brains but when its coming from Ursala it makes sense for her to think and breathe vanity. 3. It was stated in the movie that she was 15 and Eric was 21.. i 100% believe that a 15yr old is going to argue its okay to be with her 21yr old boyfriend bcuz disney said it was okay lol thats probably far fetched but i dont think they should have said erics age at all. 4. They completely took out Sebastian and chefs song! If anything, THAT SONG should have been in the movie. 5. NO SPARKLING DRESS!! At the end when the king turns ariel back into a mermaid she comes out of the water wearing a sparkling dress... so in the live action she just has on a drenched version of the dress she wore in the whole movie. But thats all lol
Yes, Úrsula's music was good, but it could have been better if it had taken a few more elements from the animation. Úrsula is daring, sensual and extravagant. I believe they scaled it down because of the kids. In animation it's one thing but in live action it could have been a bit too much. And the part about Ariel's dress made me really sad too. It was one of my favorite scenes in the entire movie and it took away the magic and the chance to enhance Ariel's beauty more. And in the end the king didn't make a rainbow

He did it in the origional AND part 2 so why not the remake! I think they maybe wanted the scene when eric put her dress in the ocean as a metaphor to show that although he loved her he had to let her go but they could have easily had her dad change the dress once she hugged eric.. ya know lol
I kinda found scuttle to be annoying. How do they put a bird underwater talking ? 🤣😂I do wish they made Sebastian’s underwater concert more festive , for the “under the sea “ song. It was CGI why not make it close to the original with the different lights and musical instruments played by the sea creatures. The ending they changed it which I don’t understand why. in the original Eric steered the boat to save Ariel and here it was Ariel who did it . And like you said the ending with the dress and the rainbow. I felt like it lacked that Disney magic that the animation had . I could have done without the song just for Eric . They also messed up flounder. he was hard to notice he blended in making it hard to see him.
I loved the movie. I've seen it so many times I can almost recite it word for word. This was the first movie I took my daughter to see when she was 3 (she's now 29), I'd already seen it as an adult. I went along to the 2023 version with my son, who's 27 and a huge Disney fan. Amongst all the bad reviews, I went with an open mind and ABSOLUTELY LOVED it, we both did, even teared up a few times...Part of Your World, the wave breaching behind her, the big hair flip where she reaches the surface, Kiss the Girl and especially the last scene with all the mermaids and humans (big ugly cry there😭🤣🤣) I CANNOT fault this movie. EVERYONE played their parts soooo well. LOVED Ursula... I LOVE it. I had my doubts and was in two minds whether to see it, or not. I'm SO GLAD I did. It was AWESOME!!!❤❤❤🇭🇲🇭🇲🇭🇲❤❤❤

I would love to see the cast on another project, I just watched the movie yesterday and I just think the cast are really perfect for each characters that make me could related to each of them with their background story and how they potrayed them.
I also love in every interview they have similar vibe with their character in the movie, just like Javier and Melissa who like to tease and joke around with each other like a sibling in every interview but adore and compliment each other to the fullest when they need to be serious 😄

Well-cast movie. Halle is a star. Movie pacing isn't perfect, new songs had much smaller impact. But overall the movie works.

I finally watched this when it went on sale on Vudu. The Little Mermaid was always my favorite Disney movie and I absolutely LOVED this version. Halle was amazing! Jonah looked EXACTLY like the cartoon Eric but I wasn't fond of his singing. Sebastian was voiced very well but not as good as the cartoon, in that, Sebastian had some bass in his voice, but this guy was still great! Halle's voice and look was amazing! I absolutely adored her in this. And when you think about it, she had to act without speaking for a big chunk of the movie and to be able to express all of the emotions that she needed to get across while not being able to talk, and that's the sign of a great actor. I didn't like Eric's singing voice, and while Awkwafina played Scuttle fine, I hated her little extra song the gave her. But overall, I give this an 8 out of 10. Definitely will be watching this again. "Kiss the Girl" was still my favorite scene, I just wish they could have found a deeper voice for Sebastian. Flounder, in my opinion, was better here than in the animated movie.

*SPOILERS* The movie was so much more than i had hoped it would be!!
Great casting! Especially for scuttle! She was perfect for that role!
There were a few things i would have changed but i definately think its going to be a classic!
SPOLIERS! things i would have changed!
1. Erics song was poorly written and wayyyyy to dramatic acting from him.
2. The entire "body language" verse from "Poor Unfortunate Souls" was taken out! which i totally understand that disney didnt want the message to be looks instead of brains but when its coming from Ursala it makes sense for her to think and breathe vanity.
3. It was stated in the movie that she was 15 and Eric was 21.. i 100% believe that a 15yr old is going to argue its okay to be with her 21yr old boyfriend bcuz disney said it was okay lol thats probably far fetched but i dont think they should have said erics age at all.
4. They completely took out Sebastian and chefs song! If anything, THAT SONG should have been in the movie.
5. NO SPARKLING DRESS!! At the end when the king turns ariel back into a mermaid she comes out of the water wearing a sparkling dress... so in the live action she just has on a drenched version of the dress she wore in the whole movie.
But thats all lol
Yes, Úrsula's music was good, but it could have been better if it had taken a few more elements from the animation. Úrsula is daring, sensual and extravagant. I believe they scaled it down because of the kids. In animation it's one thing but in live action it could have been a bit too much. And the part about Ariel's dress made me really sad too. It was one of my favorite scenes in the entire movie and it took away the magic and the chance to enhance Ariel's beauty more. And in the end the king didn't make a rainbow
Ariel is older than 15… she is at least 18 because her father said she was a child when her mother died, 15 years ago.

I think they maybe wanted the scene when eric put her dress in the ocean as a metaphor to show that although he loved her he had to let her go but they could have easily had her dad change the dress once she hugged eric.. ya know lol
I kinda found scuttle to be annoying. How do they put a bird underwater talking ? 🤣😂I do wish they made Sebastian’s underwater concert more festive , for the “under the sea “ song. It was CGI why not make it close to the original with the different lights and musical instruments played by the sea creatures. The ending they changed it which I don’t understand why. in the original Eric steered the boat to save Ariel and here it was Ariel who did it . And like you said the ending with the dress and the rainbow. I felt like it lacked that Disney magic that the animation had . I could have done without the song just for Eric . They also messed up flounder. he was hard to notice he blended in making it hard to see him.

I loved the movie. I've seen it so many times I can almost recite it word for word. This was the first movie I took my daughter to see when she was 3 (she's now 29), I'd already seen it as an adult. I went along to the 2023 version with my son, who's 27 and a huge Disney fan.
Amongst all the bad reviews, I went with an open mind and ABSOLUTELY LOVED it, we both did, even teared up a few times...Part of Your World, the wave breaching behind her, the big hair flip where she reaches the surface, Kiss the Girl and especially the last scene with all the mermaids and humans (big ugly cry there😭🤣🤣)
I CANNOT fault this movie. EVERYONE played their parts soooo well. LOVED Ursula...
