It's been a while since I've done either a Korone-related OR Subaru-related stream, huh. Probably instinctively stayed away from it due to the fifty million people jumping each other trying to sub Korone clips, I think. I'll prob do the Okayu-Subaru one too, maybe...
[Translator's Notes/Appendix - I think in these hardsub clips I will also start minimizing the number of general sfx/actions that I put into the subtitles unless they are an integrated part of someone talking. So as an example, pure laughter out of nowhere will not be subbed, but laughter before/during/after a line will be included. I'll also add stuff in if it's directly related to the conversation at hand. This is more along the lines of standard subtitling as opposed to CC'ing. My regular CC stuff won't change. I also PROBABLY don't need to clarify this, but when I make obvious grammatical mistakes, it reflects grammatical errors that the speaker is using due to casual speech. Lastly, it is difficult for me to make out Mio vs Okayu when both of them use relaxed tones along with background noise. Don't hurt me for a potential mixup.]

Wow... What a Motivation
It was incredibly motivational for me to get my dental hygiene in order! I started having dreams about all my teeth falling out. You would not BELIEVE how motivational that was!

And the sad but true thing is, it IS the honest truth. I've had a total of 11 teeth taken out, 7 of which were because of bad cavities (4 of them were overcrowding when I needed braces back in high school), and several times I hadn't been able to sleep due to the pain from the toothaches. I'm pretty sure every time Korone does something everyone just stars laughing. Those "Yeahs" sound really nice, it's really like she's listening to everything you're saying, but since it's Korone it kinda ends up the opposite. At the end of the video, I'm convinced that I'd want Korone to counsel me and spit nothing but 100% facts filled with maybe's here and there.

It's an important distinction for Korone though. Dog God is "God of all Dogs" God Dog is "God that is a Dog"
There's a lot of more reassuring things than "endure the pain."
1. You can request a very skilled and experienced dentist who's more careful. (I had to do this because the dentist would repeatedly slip the metal hook from my teeth onto my gums.)
2. You can request the use of numbing medication.
3. Some dental facilities have Televisions on the ceilings to help distract you from the feeling or sensations in your mouth.
Korone tried her best though.
Good dental hygiene also significantly reduces the pain. Healthy teeth and gums don't hurt when they get prodded.
Brushing twice a day pointing the brush towards the gumline gently and flossing before bedtime and most dental procedures would be painless.
If you dont floss, thin layers of food would gradually become lodged inbetween your gums and teeth. This would harden overtime and serve as a breeding ground for bacteria. Your gums would then become inflammed (and red in colour rather than the colour of your tounge) and sensitive trying to combat this hence why you are more prone to feeling pain.

My dental assistants got fairly chatty, and would start to explain to me, "the reason this tooth hurts is because the gum is inflamed, you can reduce that by brushing and flossing properly. I'm checking the pockets now to inspect for inflammation," and all that.
I eventually learned on my own that the nasty taste when getting your teeth cleaned is plaque being chipped away and landing on your tongue. Clean teeth mean you don't get the nasty taste, or at least not nearly as badly. I've also started mentally tracking which teeth hurt when the hygienist probes them, so I can note where I need to pay better attention to even before she tells me.
One time my dentist came in to do her supervisory check and said "Well why are you even here, your teeth are always perfect."
Also, nowadays in NA, there are dentists who work with anesthetists to perform dental procedures while under sedation (not put completely to sleep like general anesthesia, but to the level where you don't remember any of it, kind of like when you have a colonoscopy). Probably costs more, but if all the other methods fail, there is that.

I read the description, and dude, don't worry so much. There are channels out there with people who barely know English throwing subtitles on clips less than a day old.

Funny story, the dentist in the town I live in now is a very small woman -- im talking like 5'0", probably weighs no more than 100 lbs max. She needed to pull a tooth before, and she couldnt do it. No matter what she tried. She even put her knee on my chest and ended up MOUNTING ME and using FULL FORCE but she couldnt get the tooth out. Its amazing she can even do her job like that! And the kicker -- my mom not 2 weeks ago went to her and had the SAME problem! She ended up hurting my mom quite badly trying to get a tooth out. Apparently, she cant even ask people in her office to help because of liability nonsense.

one thing i did that allowed me to get through painful dental work is to take a couple tissues that they usually have in the operating room and squeeze on that to distract from whats going on in my mouth.

* Subaru says, hears or thinks about "God Dog" (every single time)
As an Italian, this Is like 10 times funnier only for the God dog part

I DID see some pictures of what happens when flies flant their eggs into cavities in your jaw and it AIN'T PRETTY.
Also there are some dentistric procedures that either hurt like a bitch or are scary as hekk. Cauterizing is when they literally burn out the inflammed parts and it doesn't hurt much, when you get medicated beforehand but it's still kinda scary.

@@苺苺苺 Thank you for telling me. I actually don't know if it's like that normally as well. From my experiences with the dentist, they usually notice me flinch when I feel like it's too painful and ask me if I'm feeling ok.

Does the "God Dog" come from a pun of Korone's surname as in InuKAmi instead of Inugami? I've seen it mentioned in a couple of clips but never where it started.
The "gami" in Inugami has the same kanji/meaning as the "kami" you're referring to (just with different pronunciations), so that's where it comes from. This also means that Mio's literal translation of "Dog God"-san is more or less correct here.
"God Dog" is what you might call a "creatively literal" translation of "Inugami" into English. The other part of the joke is a play on the pronunciation in Japanese of "hot dog", a loan phrase from English that, like "hanbaagaa" (hamburger), everyone in Japan knows. It's hard to explain without getting into stuff like how a pause in a word is considered a syllable in Japanese, but the way they say "God Dog" in English sounds intentionally like how you say "hot dog" in Japanese.
