Peaky, class vlog, but incredibly morose, you looked almost in tears. Enlightening to hear the stark, financial facts, real awareness, warts and all. Here’s hoping that Portstewart recover on the pitch results-wise and off it monetarily.
Solutions? Well, if the IFA hadn’t subsided Linfield to the tune of £30 million pounds, and had spread the wealth more equitably, a greater and healthier situation could have resulted for all. Let’s say, if each premier division club had received £1.5 million pounds, each championship club had received £0.5 million pounds, each premier intermediate club had received £0.25 million pounds and each fourth tier side had received £100k, and each club was tasked to use their payment to cover costs of upgrading facilities, maintenance etc, what a fairer position we’d all have.

It would be good if the team could get a big teams for pre season tournament like the Stena Cup

We have talked about a pre season tournament but we would probably have to ditch the milk cup to do it.

Pity there wasn’t a spare £250/£300 the club could’ve hired a tractor and solid tine spiker

Myself and the groundsman had talked about it back in August but come the time it’s required we don’t have a spare £300. Only way it would get done is if we took money out of our own pocket.

first off Niall, personally I LOVE this series, it gives the rest of us who only know the likes of the premier league teams, what stuggles goes on in the leagues below us, and what a godsend a lucky cup draw against the likes of us, the glens, the reds etc would bring financially to a club of this size.
surely there has got to be some way, somehow that the leagues, nifl, whoever, can reduce the costs for the lower clubs at your level of the 3rd tier, considering the money they make from tv rights for the prem league teams, and from the bigger prem teams, surely that would somehow subsidise the costs for the likes of yourselves. heres an idea that came to mind while listening to you go through the costs or should i say the rip offs you get shafted with. would yourselves not maybe consider a groundshare with the likes of limavady as that would hlaf the costs for groundkeep, electric , oil/gas etc, for both you as am sure they are in the same boat.

You want your own ground, it’s part of you. Look at Newington, they never have a home. I’d hate that.
