- Welcomes to today’s review of the new 16” Jasmine limited edition doll (and Dopey) released at the D23 expo for Aladdin’s 30th Anniversary. she is wearing a gorgeous purple dress and it’s a variation of an upcoming simpler doll. She’s gorgeous in dark blue/purple. I hope she stays in that color for the ShopDisney release. I can’t wait to add her into my collection with Snow White.
I couldn’t wait to see this Jasmine! Thanks for your detailed review. This Jasmine is by far the most beautiful one they have made. They finally gave her a beautiful face. I always thought the original face looked like an insect or Alain creature. You could really see the difference in this video. This new one is a beautiful princess from India. I also love her skin color much better. I have always loved the use of peacock feathers in the designs used in her outfits. This peacock embroidery is just spectacular! I want this doll so much, even more than Giselle. I know sounds crazy, but there is just something about all the colors they used I really love. And a gold metal lamp with jewels in it is awesome.
Absolutely agree!! Have you seen this Jasmine in person?? She’s SO MUCH more SPECTACULAR in person!!🤩😍
And right now she’s much cheaper than Giselle on eBay (I think it’s because no one has photographed her properly and captured the dazzling jewels and embroidery of her gown). The new Snow White has the same “problem”: the photos of her look just “okay” but when you see her in person it’s “WOW!!” 🤩😍
One caution about Jasmine: make sure you examine her carefully before purchasing, I noticed that they left off some of her clothing and accessories on one of the dolls sold on eBay. And it was a low numbered doll!! I think they assembled all of the dolls first and then tucked the numbered cards in afterwards (so a low numbered doll doesn’t necessarily mean it is a better one, or that more care was taken in its assembly. I wish they had numbered the dolls as they made them instead of this new system).
The craftsmen ship on the leg opening of the pants is simply amazing. I have trouble doing that even on human sized clothes.
And I agree with you on them taking inspiration from all of her outfits. It's a great mix of the animation and live action
I can’t wait to get mine! I’m Indian and love her Indian outfit and accessories 🤗 I wish the face was a little more movie accurate along with her colouring but still an improvement over the older ones

I love embroidery, and I love indigo, so I think this doll is amazing. I wish they would have made more; I would have gladly paid $200 for her, but not scalper prices. Anyway, I hope they keep at least some of the panels and some of the jewellery on the general doll.
Congratulations on your new Jasmine doll, she is so beautiful. The colors are absolutely regal. I'm in love. 😍 I love how they gave her the correct red lip color instead of pink. She looks like a mixture of the animated Jasmine and the live-action. I wish I could've gotten her. Hopefully the general release doll is half as nice.

For some reason video and photos fail to capture the sparkle and shine of the jeweled embroidery on her dress. It’s absolutely DAZZLING!! Her jewelry and makeup sparkle and shine too. I don’t understand why it’s so hard to capture in photos. But if you ever get the chance to see her (or own one😍) in person, you will NOT be disappointed!! Truly amazing, and she is definitely one of my all time favorite dolls ever made for any of the D23 Expos, eclipsed only by Giselle! The new Snow White is a close runner up!!😅 The new Snow White doll don’t photograph well either (she’s MUCH more spectacular in person). I think the fact that Jasmine and Snow White doesn’t photograph well is the reason they’re both at bargain basement prices on eBay (compared to Giselle😅).
Merida and her adorable bear brothers is another incredible doll set. Disney D23 Expo Designer Dolls really outdid themselves this year, although I wasn’t as impressed with the Hercules set (it was very nice but I wasn’t as blown away by the set as I was with the other dolls).
She's so pretty! 😍 I'm glad she's coming to the store even if she is less detailed.

I was waiting for you to review her Mario, she’s the one I want the most from D23. She’s so gorgeous and her face sculpt is finally accurate I feel like. This D23 Jasmine Doll looks SO MUCH nicer in person. I’ve yet to see any photos or video that capture the colors properly or show the dazzle and sparkle of her bejeweled embroidered gown. She’s truly breathtakingly beautiful in person. And the eBay prices are now half of what they were when she first come out (I think it’s because there just aren’t any good photos or videos of her out there). Definitely one of THE BEST designer dolls to have ever been produced for D23 or the Disney Store. Spectacular!!😍🤩

what do you mean with "variation"? Isn't the original D23 one?
The d23 is the one in the review, the variation is the one Disney will release eventually, a more “simpler” version of this one.

I would disagree with the peacock motif being overused for Jasmine. Maybe it is something not really associated with the Middle East since peafowls are from South Asia. But I don't mind about it, she looks good in it and I think it is great they do incorporate different bits of the culture and aesthetic from the region she's supposed to be from. ✨💙🦚
