The Comets was a force to be reckoned with. Every team tried their best to get passed them and they made it very difficult. They stood in everyone's way. They reminded me of the Bulls. I miss Perrot, Cooper, Thompson and Swoopes. What a freakin' lineup!
Down to earth and most gracious........ran into her at Benihana Restaurant on Westheimer Road, Houston, TX., just 4 days after one of the COMETS play-offs games...she took the time to chat with everyone at my dinner table. I never missed any of the COMETS home game🏀🏀🏀
Kim if you ( or anyone from the Comets is reading this ) I wanted to tell you that my mother was definitely yalls biggest fan. She was elderly and on oxygen. We couldn't find her one night. She wasn't in the hospital, at her best friend's house, a family members home, we were all worried sick. She got home around 11 pm that night and we all were like, " where were you? Do you know what time it is?" Hahaha. She told us she went to the comets playoff game all by herself with her O2 tank. We were stunned she was in her 70's. God and the Houston Comets gave her fight and lived until she was 91. She loved you all.
God bless you and your Mom and your family. This is one of the best fan stories in WNBA history! The Houston Comets set the tone and bar for the decades to come. I am from Los Angeles California and it was all about the L.A. Sparks and Lisa Leslie. But we were in awe of the Comets and Swoops and Cooper and Thompson. "We got NEXT!" And I remember Thompson bodied Moses Malone during all star game weekend lol "He's gotta come harder than that!" LoL OMG... anyway I love your comment. God Bless you and your Mom in heaven and I hope you're well! PEACE 💜
Tina Thompson is and will remain a WNBA legend. I am bummed the Houston Comets didn't survive because I wanted TT to start and end her career there. I also desired for her number to be retired by the now gone Comets.
The lost of Kim Perrot hurt many fans and WNBA players Perrot would have been one of the GOAT guards of all time her defense is still unmatched and WNBA best.
