I love the direction you and your channel is moving in. The fact that you never gave up on this goal of creating a community and making a home in France just makes me admire you so much more. You’re living life to the fullest and making your dreams a reality and you truly inspire me to do the same. Can’t wait to see your house become a home ❤️
Cant emphasise enough, how happy it makes me to see someone building a life with deeper meaning and designing their home to fulfil those intellectual cravings.
Wow, what an awesome apartment that you purchased. By Parisian standards, it appears new, modern and very spacious in contrast to other Paris apartments. I Like the natural light from all the windows. That is so important for those gray and cloudy winter days. Sounds like you have a lot of work ahead to transform your space but you will make it even nicer than what it already is. Most important it will be your very own beautiful home. I am excited for you and the changes you want to make Nathaniel. No doubt it will take time, from what you have shared due to the French concept and culture of time, service and daily living. Best of luck Nathaniel. Will be watching and waiting for videos of your journey and progress!!!
It’s beautiful and incredibly inspiring to see a highly intelligent person expressing and experiencing so much joy. Allot of times it seems that more intelligence comes with more sadness (and I know you’ve shared some of your sad moments). The light in your eyes when you describe your vision is contagious. Thank you for bringing us along and showing us that it is possible to find and experience joy 🥲😊
You are, honestly, one of the most inspiring people on this platform. Watching your videos makes me feel free and limitless like everything is possible. Thank you for sharing your journey with us! Love from Portugal x
Hi Bea, I totally agree. I feel the same when I watch Nathaniels videos! You write that you're from Portugal. I visit Porto this month. I have never been to Portugal before so I feel really excited! Do you have any recommendations for places to visit/activities to do/cool spots? :)
This reminds me of an article about a woman who hold storytelling evenings. She invited people to talk about a different topic every day and everyone had to tell personal stories. This is really great and I'd love to do something like that too
Just watched midnight in Paris for the 3rd time last week. My mind was primed for this and I’m even more excited about what you’re creating. Btw, your energy is contagious! (I have a huge smile on my face) Love love love this series my friend!
I can't express how interesting it is, the fact that you are full of ideas and such a deep will to live your life to the max, surround yourself with people that share the same way of living, and constantly improve yourself. that's what I try to do every single day. thank you so much for sharing and being vulnerable in front of millions of people. Your good vibes are multiplied!
Dude, I relate so deeply to everything in this video. I just bought my first house recently too, and the first thing I bought was a painting of "The Yellow House" by Van Gogh. I bought this painting because Van Gogh imagined that the yellow house he lived in would become a hub where he could invite fellow artists to create, and that's what I envision for my space as well. Can't wait to see what you create, man.
I vibe so much with what you're saying and your worldview! Honestly, I have always felt like the country I live in is too small for how I feel about the world. I need to see more, experience more, understand more. Like I just can't contain how many beautiful and interesting things are in the world, and the idea of not experiencing that for the rest of my life seems insane to me. I share into your feelings so much and it is surprisingly hard to find likeminded people!
My guy - every video you create is nothing short of captivating. I'm a big fan. Spent a month in Paris in January and all I want to do is move there. Keep it going!
Feel like we, and many people, are going through the same journey. F' all the self-help stuff, and just try and enjoy life, no pressure, go with the flow and see things workout if you don't stress.
I cannot stop smiling from seeing how wholesome and joyous Nathaniel jumping from mattress to mattress was. You can tell how much fun he’s having from just the editing in that scene alone. 🥹✨ Not only are we watching the embodiment of someone being so tapped into who they are, they’re living so authentically, we’re really being taken along for the ride. Ugh all the feels! Thank you for your storytelling & inspiration 🙏🏼❤️
I'm so happy for you Nathaniel. I've been watching all of your videos for a year already and it always felt like you were my personal psychologist because I've struggled with the same emotional states as you were describing in your videos and listening to your ideas and thoughts always helped me. I'm so grateful for this because you actually helped me to find a meaning or rather the absence of conventional meaning (in a good way) in my life. I know that feeling when you waited so long and ultimately managed to save money for your first own apartment. I was so excited when I opened the door of my apartment. I was so inspired and started visualizing my dream apartment and my future life in it. I've bought mine in December 2021. I started to work on the design project and renovation, planning all details of my future home. And then February 24 came... It's the third month since the city of Kharkiv is under the everyday heavy shelling by russians. Kharkiv was a city with 1.5 million citizens which is just 0.5 million less than Paris. It was a vibrant city of students, everyone has own plans for the future. I still can't believe that such genocide is possible in 21st century but it's our reality. As for now, I don't know if the building of my apartment still exists, but even if it is still there it's just a matter of time. Frankly speaking, I don't care about my apartment anymore, it was just a house. Many people lost their lives, some lost their beloveds, some deaths were quick, and some died in pain and were tortured, so my loss is just nothing compared to others. I've managed to escape the city and I'm relatively safe now (if the safety concept is still appropriate nowadays) I'm not sure why I'm writing this comment here. I understand that it's not appropriate here, so sorry for that. All I want to say to all of you - appreciate what you have now, just one missile sent by the order of an insane old man could destroy everything you have. Yes, it is corny, but when all your life crumbles apart you understand that all the shit you had before is just a trifle. Stay safe and be brave like Ukraine. Hugged you all.
Loving the Atelier idea! you should totally set up an artist residency program, fostering others creativity (as well as expanding your own) in your own space!
Hm.......kinda like Casey Neistat's creator collaborative? The idea of crafting a space dedicated to hosting "creativity meetup parties" is really cool.
I must admit, you got me with the Salon. A native of California, I escaped to my true life in France in 2007. While I adore Paris, my true home I found it in a small village about one hour from the border with Spain. When you pass Shakespeare & Company, throw it a kiss for me. When I first visited Paris, they took copies of my first poetry chapbook for Poet's Corner and I still have my receipt as my favorite French souvenir. Congratulations on your apartment and I wish you all the best.
I love that you’ll be hosting these salons! What an incredible and fulfilling legacy to take on and modernize. When you said “not to get blasted but to expand our minds,” it hit home. Can’t wait to see it! Edit: Atelier Lutèce - holy shit, perfect haha
I'm loving this! Not many people are being deliberate about hosting creativity and encouraging community and discourse, I would love to see this grow into a real hub for likeminded people to come together and open up other locations around the world with the same mission.
Honestly I know white walls are still very popular, but living in a house with mid to dark mocha walls was an eye opening experience. Beautiful mood it puts you in, highly recommend darker walls at least in some situations, or maybe just on one wall to make it pop...or for a movie watching room:)
Dude this is so inspiring. I want this too. Creating a new artistic period, that is totally the energetic vibe we need in this world instead of all the fear based living. You my friend are an inspiring person and I hope to meet you one day. Thanks for the videos!!
It's crazy how we moved in a similar direction at the same time. Back when I found your channel 2,5 years ago, I was in a very similar phase as you were, figuring out life , moving to France... And now, I live in Paris too and your content about building a home base, Art etc. resonate so much with me and my own life. I agree a lot with your vision of "killing the 20th century" and can not wait to see how all of this is evolving! Keep up the good work!
Tus videos son siempre de mucha inspiración, te invitan a reflexionar constantemente. Gracias por sacarme de la monotonía del día a día para tomarme un cafecito y mirar tu contenido.. Saludos desde Argentina!
Wow this is so inspiring. I never heard of "salons littéraires" but I always felt like I wanted a home where I could invite people over and talk about life, art, science, philosophy, etc. and collaborate. So this really reaffirmed that goal and desire and to actually work towards it.
This is strangely one of my favorite videos of yours because the aspiration to build a community and bring back the Salon is, no exaggeration, life changing for me. I don't know if I can do the same -- I don't have the benefit of being a content creator with an easily accessible network of people -- but I know that it gives me so much energy just thinking about it. I actually now realize that discussing ideas I care about face to face is NECESSARY, not optional, for having a life that I enjoy.
Now one of my dreams will be going to Paris and seeing if one day I may encounter you in the streets and have a deep conversation about life. Congratulations on your new apartment Nathaniel, so happy for you 👏
I feel like this whole comment section would love to be around and have a friend like you, to be part of your community and be able to get creative in such a great environment. Your work is amazing because we can’t all be physically with you but we do bond over your content and your videos. Thank you Nathaniel! Love from Portugal!
Nathaniel, I was smiling from ear to ear while watching your video. I don't think I have ever seen you this excited and happy in any of your previous videos before. Obviously I don't know you in person, only what I see on TH-cam. I am sincerely very happy for you. Your smile lights up the room. Enjoy your apartment and your future memories in it.
I’m really happy to see that you truly seem much happier and healthier mentally more recently, at least from a few glimpses I’ve watched. I pray that you keep growing mentally and spiritually and that you find peace and happiness always. You definitely look like you’ve been truly searching and sincere on your quest of finding the right path and so I think you’ll be guided to the answer. Love ur perseverance and courage.
I love your laugh Nathaniel! I hope you achieve your dreams. I hope everyone has the strength to chase their dreams and achieve everything they want to in this life. 💕💕
Nathaniel, I moved out of Paris recently after roughly 3 years there and I got to say: I love how your enthusiasm brings another color to the city's palette in my mind! I love Paris for many reasons being an enthusiast for the arts myself and I philosophy doctoral student. But what I mean to say is that being Brazilian, I spent a long time in the city craving being around more spontaneous energy, and for people to vibe together (that's why this year's carnivalS in Rio - yes, we had 2 so far - were so incredibly important to me). But getting to watch your videos helps me to keep my Paris memories in check whilst giving me new cravings to go back there!
Stephen Fry is one of my favourite narrators! His voice is so soothing and his English his impeccable 🙏🏻 He’s also read all the Sherlock Holmes stories and I loved it. I also recently discovered that David Attenborough read his own book, Life on Earth, which just such a joy to listen to if you love Attenborough and nature documentaries
It sounds like you have a specific vision for the apartment and I'm telling you what I wish someone told me: hire an architect or at least an interior designer to bring your vision to life. Unless you've done it before, it's likely not going to live up to what you want and you'll end up paying more anyway. In my experience, you get to enjoy your new apartment sooner and my architect paid for himself as he knew what to spend money and on but more importantly, what NOT to spend money on. Either way, this is going to be a fun journey and you're going to learn a lot. Madadaalo!
Man, the way you explore life, and how you make it sound, the cultural background, the genius in the storytelling, and THE VIEWS! Whatever you do going forward, I wanna be here to watch!
To the *worthwhile person* seeing this, your dream is not dead. Don’t allow the past and current pains and hurts stop and define you. You’re more than a conqueror. Rise up and put yourself together. Keep pushing your future depends on it. I wish you all the best in life ❤️.
I really appreciate that you include a countdown with your ad reads. I love that transparency, you do not underestimate our intelligence and you are open about the fact this is a job and you are doing work. Good job, Nate. Veeeeeery excited for this glow up. :)
When I first got my apartment (not in France), the feelings were completely "out of this world". I can relate your excitement, and it sure will keep you very very busy as a result and that is a good things to look foward to because each step of the way will bring joy. I have been there.
I cant wait to see how you transform this apartment. By the way the toilet walls are pretty cool in my opinion, as your friends said it's funky and thats why he likes it
Last night I had the strangest dream that I was walking with a friend, and said, "Nathaniel Drew hangs out here". You immediately walked up to us and said, 'yes I do." Then you laughed, and joined us. It was as if you were waiting for us, or someone, to show up. You walked us to an apt. with several rooms. There were other people staying there. We were discussing something interesting but I can't recall the details. Then, some noise from the apt. next door woke me up. The dream brought me here, as I realized I haven't seen your channel recently. Loved what you said about having fun, and creating community. Excited for you and your plans!
Bring Sadia in and give us some cooking lessons... its gonna be amazing! I am so much excited about this new way of living of yours and also my way which is hugely inspired by you. Thank youu :)
This hit me at just the right time! I'm in the process of moving right now, after half a year of travel through Europe (so I feel being OVER living out of a suitcase!) Feeling all the nervous feelings - worry I might not find a place I like, stress about getting rid of all my possessions and starting over someplace new, where I know no one, sadness about leaving behind so many good friends. But this video put me in a good headspace, and got me excited about the future. I hope I fall in love with my own space the way you are right now!
Again Nathaniel, your content is the best I've ever watched, it's like my favorite TV show but never ending, watching you the past 2 years, I've learned french started learning Spanish, even gave me the motivation to achieve me dream and get the ability to live where I want, next home will be in Bordeaux, next year.
Aww; I'm SO happy and excited for you. I love thinking big and watching my own dreams come to fruition. You'll be able to do it; your enthusiasm and zest for life will carry you far. I'm 53 and have a pretty good track record myself of imagining my reality into existence. It's one of the reasons I follow your channel. Your dreams are not the same as mine, but the method is pretty much the same: not everyone has to do everything the way the majority of people do things and figuring out ways to do it your own way is rewarding and fun. Excited to continue to follow your journey!
Man I'm soooo gelous!! Ahahah my DREAM right now is to own a place in the centre of Rome and you're such an inspiration! My second dream is to eventually be invited to one of your salons 😂 let's make these the real roaring twenties!
Just passing a thought, having “work” associated with your home, as in atelier (workshop), could be something to stray from even if it’s something as non factor as what you call your home. Looking forward to see what comes next from you!
Honestly.. you doing exactly what I have been dreaming of for the last couple of years.. Not really dreaming I have also found an apartment (in the area I really wanted..in my hometown) and it will be a hostel officially but for me it would be more than that.. i am making this space because I was starving for human connections.. I moved to Lyon and it’s hard to manage personally everything back in my hometown, so next goal is creating such space here in Lyon.. I can feel your excitement, your happiness, your emotions.. I can 200% relate to all of what you were talking and sharing! I am sincerely happy for you and wish you all the best in accomplishing what you are doing 🍀🧡
I don’t know where to begin. I. LOVE YOUR CONTENT! Kara and Nate introduces me to you and I am so happy. Can’t wait to see what you do in Paris, cooking would be amazing. As well as day in a life of a Parisian. Wow! There are so many aspects of French living you could explore, historical places/facts/stories, I could go on... Thank you for doing so well what you do!
I loved your minimalistic spaces, in these days i’m trying to apply my own minimalism in every aspect of my life. There’s no need to have a pile of stuff in each room and drawers. Your enthusiasm is always contagious, sometimes I think you’ve never left the kid inside you, you’re truly an example. Great work 😊
I like the name Atelier Lutece! It harkens back to the beginnings of the city you love while you are making space for people to envision a new city, making new connections. I think it’s so important, so inspiring for you to fulfill your dreams. Good luck with this new phase of life!
It's so wonderful to see Nathaniel feeling so much joy- It really shines through this video and you just can't help but smile along. Congrats on this huge achievement! So excited to see your beautiful home's evolution over the coming months.
Your vision resonates with me so much. It's absolutely beautiful. I've been a part of some "discussion clubs" and it's absolutely necessary to my life. I'm so happy for you 🤗🤗🤗
Your apartment is beautiful and I have never seen you so happy! Congratulations! And Gertrude Stein rocks. So looking forward to more of your videos. You are taking carpe diem to a whole new level.
Dear Nathaniel, I'm glad I found you on TH-cam. I'm so happy for you. This is the most perfect apartment ever. As someone who had an artistic, inspirational circle of friends in New York in the 70s, you are on track for happiness. When you get this circle of friends who make you a better version of yourself, who inspire your work, who make you happy and sad but feel alive, hang onto them. When you're in your twenties, you think this intensity of life will stay with you, that you can take it with you to another place, but you can't,. Well, perhaps with your spirit you could. More good luck to you, Nathaniel. Thanks for sharing.
This is super inspiring to see! As a musician searching for meaningful connections around me has been difficult during the pandemic, but seeing your passion for it makes me want to go out right now and discover new people :)
Nathaniel you are incredible with your energy and willingness to change the world we live in. Fingers crossed for your plans and dreams 💚 You're inspiring!
I can't describe the level of inspiration I get watching any one of your videos, and this one is no different. I'm a violin maker and violin workshops are frequently called Atelier, and I would do anything to set up an atelier/salon in Paris, or even to just participate in one. Sharing ideas with creatives, discussing literature and art and how to innovate past the models of our predecessors strikes such a chord. I'll probably never get to participate in person in Atelier Lutèce, but maybe one day I can set up my own wherever I end up.
OMG Nathaniel! You have my dream home. 6 flights of stairs aside, I love the idea of character apartment living, with light and a view to die for. Can’t wait to see the evolution of your home and salons. Congratulations!
I've been watching you for years and have never commented, but I feel like I have to right now. You seem high on life and your excitement is contagious! Very happy for you 🎉🎉
Wait, hold the phone. You're going to have people you like over to your house to have a chat about stuff you like? That's mind blowing. I can't believe no one does this. This is game changing. This is epoch defining. You're the philanthropist genius the world needed. This is going to have such a dramatic affect on the people of Paris. I hope they're ready for you hosting people.
"...life is what you make it" Wow! That was an awesome video. Thank you for inspiring me to break my walls and expand my goals! Keep going on this kind of content, your energy is so contagious.
Go for it! - Joie de vivre. The joy of life. I know something of your history from these videos. Not to diminish your struggles; yet some of us are far more burdened. Life sealed us away in negative mindsets that resisted all attempts at change. Fortunately, through introspection, reading, and videos like yours, rekindled hope for change can break through the toughest barriers. Just seeing the journeys of others inspires courage. When one's own belief system is accessible, real progress can begin. I remember what 'fun' was/is...from my youth. I intend to allow it into my life once more. Do not give in, fellow travelers - do not give up! Though the path is often difficult/painful...the journey to personal freedom is totally worth the effort. The likes of Napoleon Hill, and others, can show us the way forward. That I can do this now (I passed 50 a long time ago) is testament to the tenacity we all possess. Thank you, N.D. - Enjoy the view!
Absolutely love the enthusiasm here! The pure giddiness and excitement, especially about small things like washer/dryer/dishwasher is hilarious and amazing, a breath of fresh air! Can't wait to see the place when it's all done!! Oh and Atelier Lutèce is perfect, just the amount of thought you've put in it and the story it paints is perfect. Don't change it.
My bf just sent me your video about how you got your apartment and I think I'm getting addicted to this series. It's really interesting how you show it to your viewers and I would really enjoy watching some nice cooking videos in this beautiful kitchen 😊
Watching your videos and reading your comment section is my own little way of restoring my faith in humanity whenever i need to. And for that i am immensely thankful. I live in Paris, if you ever organize a meetup, I would love to join !
Nathaniel ! I re-discovered your channel a few days ago, love it ! Just FYI as a Parisian myself (currently living in Rome lol) : FOR THE WATER DAMAGE do NOT let it happen "eventually", the way things are done in France sometimes is to keep calling and calling and calling the service / person that's supposed to take care of stuff... While apologizing profusely for doing so but while also being annoying enough that they have to get it done ;)
For sixteen years I lived in an artists community in Chicago. It was everything you are describing and more. Well over two hundred artists. I got involved and had the happiest years of my life there.
You took minimalism to a new level w all this décor
I have personally tested Nathaniel Drew‘s at-home Wi-Fi and successfully performed the world’s first teleportation in history. It was that fast.
Damon, que tengas un bonito día amigo 💘

we NEED a cooking collab video
@damon - why haven't you bought anything in Paris?

To be honest, I'm happy to watch some sponsored content knowing that it helps the construction of your apartment
Same! Also, haven't watched an ad so attentively in ages :)

I agree a lot with your vision of "killing the 20th century" and can not wait to see how all of this is evolving! Keep up the good work!
Guatemala is better than France
Tus videos son siempre de mucha inspiración, te invitan a reflexionar constantemente. Gracias por sacarme de la monotonía del día a día para tomarme un cafecito y mirar tu contenido.. Saludos desde Argentina!
Wow this is so inspiring. I never heard of "salons littéraires" but I always felt like I wanted a home where I could invite people over and talk about life, art, science, philosophy, etc. and collaborate. So this really reaffirmed that goal and desire and to actually work towards it.
Somehow you make an apartment tour so fun and delightful, but it's you. Your apartment is gorgeous.
To hear you so excited is heartwarming
It makes me happy seeing you seem so happy with where you’re at right now and about where you are going. Really makes me smile while watching!
Congratulations on your new apartment Nathaniel, so happy for you 👏
My Chinese friend dream is be a cowboy in Texas
I feel like this whole comment section would love to be around and have a friend like you, to be part of your community and be able to get creative in such a great environment. Your work is amazing because we can’t all be physically with you but we do bond over your content and your videos. Thank you Nathaniel! Love from Portugal!
Your excitement for your new apartment, your future, and this project is SO CONTAGIOUS. So happy and excited for you. Love from Seattle.
Always loved Gertrude Stein and her impact on art history! Rooting for this atelier lutèce!!! Love from Madrid
I like how you’re showing more personality in your videos. You seem happier and I love that for you ❤️
Stephen Fry is one of my favourite narrators!
It sounds like he will tired in few days
To the *worthwhile person* seeing this, your dream is not dead. Don’t allow the past and current pains and hurts stop and define you. You’re more than a conqueror. Rise up and put yourself together. Keep pushing your future depends on it. I wish you all the best in life ❤️.
dude i wish i lived in paris. your desire for deep/meaningful conversation is what I'm always after in friendships.
Obsessed with the idea of having these kinds of “salons” to gather creatives 🧚🏽
I really appreciate that you include a countdown with your ad reads. I love that transparency, you do not underestimate our intelligence and you are open about the fact this is a job and you are doing work. Good job, Nate.
Veeeeeery excited for this glow up. :)
YES! Cooking content please! What a nice place Nathaniel.
Every time I watch one of your videos, I just want to give you a big hug. Such a wonderful human being.
Bro be just living his life and inspiring the shit out of me throughout it, amazing work and congratulations man 👏👏👏
When I first got my apartment (not in France), the feelings were completely "out of this world".
I love the French balcony :D minimalist apartment we have a similar vibe in Budapest with the inside corridors old downtown houses. :)
Love Budapest
Bring Sadia in and give us some cooking lessons... its gonna be amazing! I am so much excited about this new way of living of yours and also my way which is hugely inspired by you. Thank youu :)
Thank you for uploading, you made my day
This hit me at just the right time!
I have changed your name in my phone to Gertrude🔥
I love how excited and elated you are in this about your place. Its really refreshing. Thank you for your stuff dude
*A TIP* : As you learn more about communication, practice making yourself understood until others experience positive reactions to your words.
Nathaniel living the life, some of us only dream of…!
I love the contrast between the beautiful bathroom, toilet and kitchen and the 'yeah we just tore these shelves out' walls, it looks beautiful!
Nathaniel, I can see a glimpse of the vision/ambition you have. I like it, you got it mate
It is such a joy to see your excitement and enthusiasm for your new home. I have smiled the whole way through. Best Wishes! Welcome Home!!
Omfg he is sooo excited,,, we love seeing you soo energetic and happy yesss it is a life changing moment and yess we want cooking videos
Ive never seen you so… human and it brings me joy to see you happy im proud of what you have become in editing production and in life!!
The kitchen / living is just amazing, with the beautiful ceilings, and the window with the fences... inspiring
Hey Nathaniel, just wanted to say it's amazing to see how you're blossoming at the moment. Enjoy every moment of it! 🙏
Bringing me to tears with your inspiration for the future of this space! Beautiful vision!
Ok, I understand that everyone has a personal style, but that WC is kick-ass!!! I hope that it will grow on you as you live there and don't change it!
What a dream !! As a photographer I love the separated balconies because it is PERFECT for super cool photos with the parisian rooftops 😍😍😍
This cover photo is my favorite photo ever! I love when you are expressive, it's so refreshing!
I am so excited for you. I hope to achieve this dream of a community apartment in the UK, to bring people, art, and ideas together.❤
Your excitement is so wholesome, I live for it! 😆🫶✨
