Just discovered your channel.👍👍👍Nice, average guy, point of view. I'm going to enjoy watching your' videos. And i get to learn at the same time to. I'm picking my svart. 401 up, some time in March, in Austin, and driving it back to San Antonio.😁 Looking forward to your videos.
Very helpfull series of videos for me! OK.... So I have swapped from the db-killed Akra slip-on to the LV10 and I have ordered the FuelX Lite. I will order the K&N as soon as the FuelX arrives. What are your thought about getting the vented lid as well? Isn't there a risk that the Fuelx will not compensate enough for the K&N+Lid combo? I have read that a bike running a little "lean" will result in more effect, but I don't want to run the bike lean if I can avoid it.
I did the airlid (DNA high performance air filter stage 2) as well as the base filter. I wouldn’t have done either without the FuelX Lite. The FuelX Lite will help protect your engine in closed loop scenarios where the motorcycle tends to run lean, so it will richen and optimize the fuel mixture. At higher RPMs and more open throttle positions the bike runs richer; that scenario is also when you hit open loop the bike is just relying on the ECU. You can leave it as is from there if you want (as the bike is running richer), tune your ECU to optimize for higher revs, or replace the ECU with something to piggyback on the FuelX Lite. So far I haven’t noticed any issues, but I’m not riding a lot at high revs.
Really likign the calm and mature videos. With filter upgrades out there like K&N, DNA and BMC what was your choice to go with the K&N? Just cost as it is the cheapest of the three.
Thank you! Glad you're enjoying the channel! Air Filters ... I mostly watched videos and read online reviews and posts about Svartpilen mods. The K&N air filter replacement with the DNA stage 2 airbox cover was a common theme I ran across, so I followed suit. Being brand new to motorcycles, it was really just about what appeared to be the most common setup. As I continue the journey of riding and doing maintenance, I'll be able to be a bit more picky, and I'll know more about what I'm really looking to do to the motorcycle. I was the most selective in the slip-on exhaust. I thought about buying multiple and trying each to get a feel for the sound and selling the others, but that seemed like a hassle. Watched a ton of videos and listened to a lot of sound clips before settling on the LeoVince. I'm sure I would have been happy with many of the alternatives, but I'm happy with the LeoVince. FuelX Lite was a no-brainer.
Thank you for your explications I just bought both air filter stage 1 and 2 and the Fuelx Lite. Did you know how much HP did you gain with all those MODS?
I put in the fuel x and the k&n filter, I skipped the 2nd stage filter cuz I don't want it much louder and the main takeaway is just how much smoother the bike runs. Haven't really seen that much more power in any noticeable way but the bike is way more responsive and much smoother so I'm happy with it. Idk if you had this but without the fuel x sometimes the bike would shut off in the lower gear at stop signs which was a huge pain in the ass.
Same experience; smooth, not a ton of new power noticeable, but just overall really smooth and no jerky behavior at low revs. I rode in your configuration for a few weeks before I added the Stage 2 filter. The Stage 2 definitely rounded it out and made it feel more peppy.
The performance air filters absolutely give you more power. I don’t have equipment to do a diagnostic but it is noticeable and just stupid fun to ride.
Question; where did you get the air filters and tuner? Also was the tuner something like plug and play or did you have to tune it like a car through a computer
The air filters I got on Amazon. I did the FuelX Lite from Race Dynamics India; came pretty quickly, and it’s plug and play and helps with lower revs where the engine runs lean (the “lite” optimizes automatically to adjust for mods and the pro gives you settings to flip between).
Miles per Gallon went from 63 to 58, so a drop of 5 MPG (2.13 kilometers per liter), but with better performance and fun factor. Since the tank is 2.51 gallons (9.5L), it reduced my range by about 12.55 miles or about 20 kilometers. Results will vary based on your body weight and riding style, but that’s what my result was. My total range is about 145 miles these days.
You should be fine if they tune the ECU. With the extra air, the bike will just want a bit richer fuel mix. Watch for signs your bike is running too lean (like engine knocking/pinging) and you can always add the FuelX. Personally, I wanted the FuelX anyway, just to smooth out the lower gears and remove some of the jerkiness. www.partzilla.com/blog/motorcycle-atv-engine-rich-or-lean-how-to-tell
I cover my motorcycle, but yes you can leave it outside. The airbox cover (DNA Stage 2 air filter) is under the seat so it isn’t direct exposed to the elements.

Thanks! Congratulations on your Svart! 🎉
Like the channel. In Fl and have been enjoying my Svart since May.
Thanks! Congrats on the Svart!

@@ridingwithgravity401 OK, thank you! Replacing the ECU is what I’m trying to avoid. I might opt out on the airlid just to be safe.

friendly advice, please do your air filter modification at the bottom of the airbox not above it. to prevent some damage to your engine
Thank you for your explications I just bought both air filter stage 1 and 2 and the Fuelx Lite. Did you know how much HP did you gain with all those MODS?
Unfortunately I don’t have a dyno to measure the HP change. If I find good info on it or a measurement I’m confident in sharing I will let you know.

What ls the change in the 0-60 and top speed?
any reason you went for the k&n over the dna filter to match your dna airbox? appreciate the info
Just cost; K&N was cheaper
Nice! I just picked my 2023 401 svart a month ago. And looking for more pep. So you do notice that it has more get up and go?

Hi, did your fuel efficiency change after these mods? Thank you in advanced and ride safe brother.

hey mr.gravity
a bit late for this video but have something to ask
if my workshop able to do tune for me do i still need the fuelx for air box mod?
You should be fine if they tune the ECU. With the extra air, the bike will just want a bit richer fuel mix.

re: exhausts, I was looking at your leo vince and akrapovics but the price difference is crazy. Why is akrapovic so much more expensive? smh
Can you leave the bike outside with these mods ? The rain wont affect it ? Especially because of the new airbox cover , thanks
I cover my motorcycle, but yes you can leave it outside. The airbox cover (DNA Stage 2 air filter) is under the seat so it isn’t direct exposed to the elements.
