    Thank you for the instruction on this flag. I made one in memory of my Dad who was a disabled veteran of World War II. The American Flag means so much to me and usually brings me to tears. I can say as I crocheted my flag and saw it come to life, it has brought me to tears of Pride❤ Thank You again for Your great tutorial.

    I went ahead and purchased the written pattern on Ralvery last night. We just returned home from buying all the yarn from Joanne’s. I got the Red Heart Super Saver for $2.59 per skein after the sale and my coupons. I just started the Afghan and am on row 2. It’s already working up fast. I can’t wait to finish this as it will be a Christmas gift for my patriotic President Trump loving hubby. 🇺🇸 Just what we need to have laying on our sofa and to wrap up in. Thanks for such a beautiful pattern. ❤ 🧶

    ATTN:
    Hello again! I’ve about got my flag made and I’m onto making the stars now. I’m using Caron One Pounder yarn in white with a 5.5mm hook for the stars because it makes the stars look a whole lot nicer than the Red Heart. They lay flat nicely. I found the white RHSS to be very thick and stiff for the stars. So, my question is: How big are your stars? Mine are 4” x 4”. If this is to big, I want to know now if I should use a 5.0mm hook to make them a bit smaller. Thanks a bunch! Tana 😊

    • @TheTurtleTrunk
      @TheTurtleTrunk  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The double crochet 2 together? We make a decrease at the beginning and end of each row because this chevron pattern has more "peaks" then "valleys" so the decreases at the beginning and end make up for that. Without them you would continually be adding more stitches each row. Hope that makes sense!

    Why would you need to cut red and blue yarn to switch them around?

    • @sabinabassett
      @sabinabassett 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would try to keep attached like a graphgan don’t you think? Unless her method is cleaner?

    • @TheTurtleTrunk
      @TheTurtleTrunk  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I tried carrying the yarn across but you could see the strand through the space where the skipped stitches are. If don't mind seeing the strand carrying over or have another method you can definitely do that instead of cutting!

      I was thinking that might happen

    I would use that pattern to create the Barbados 🇧🇧, the only thing is that i will have to figure out how 🤔 to create the broken trident in the center 🤔 Your creation of the American flag is beautiful.

      So happy you like it! I think a great way to make this into the Barbados flag would be to crochet the blanket with just the yellow and blue, then sew on a trident after (like crochet a trident appliqué and sew it on after)

    I made this blanket using a Lionbrand pattern and heartland yarn. Mine is smaller and doesn’t have all 50 stars but even the stars look the same. Am I right?

    • @TheTurtleTrunk
      @TheTurtleTrunk  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Different pattern! The Lion Brand one uses a ripple to get the wave where mine is chevron, the LBY one is also quite a bit smaller.

    I know it's a throw and stuff. But it's still an American flag design. But your not supposed let the American flag touch the ground
