    I did this mod to my gamecube last year, and it’s probably my favorite console mod ever. Being able to play my entire collection without worrying about putting any unnecessary where in tear on my income selection is great. I would also recommend the laser bear industries 3-D printed insert for this mod. It fills in the space where the optical drive used to be and makes it look a lot cleaner

    Thank you so much, for bringing this product to light. I went and ordered one, a few days ago. It came in today, so I followed the instructions and tutorial in this video and boom, it works. I get to play my old Gamecube games, once again. Several years ago, I lost my entire Gamecube collection to a fire. I wanted to repurchase my collection through Ebay, but Gamecube games have gotten expensive. So now with this MOD, I can enjoy my old games once again.

    I also used this cool 3D printed extension mount. Basically connects to the GC loader with a SD card Extender wire, and fills in the space the optical drive took up. Allows you to swap Sd cards if you use multiple of them which is nice plus it looks good for the overall esthetic

      @@MachoNachoProductions Something else you may want to consider, at least for now the gcloader can't write to its sd card, so if you want to save any settings in swiss you will need an sd gecko or sd2sp2 and a small sd card (this would also allow use of swiss virtual memory cards so you could save all your games to the sd gecko/sd2sp2 and not need to manage multiple memory cards), although they are working on adding support for writing to the gcloader's sd card. That may also allow saving games to the gcloader sd card

      @@MachoNachoProductions you've got so many option with GC Video, internal or external, HDMI or Component.
      I use a GC HD Mark 2 by EON, who's awesome because I can use HDMI and Wii's component (and both at the same time 🤘) + mini toslink for audio 👍.
      Carby and Prisme are the best price/quality, so yeah a great choice 👍

    One more HUGE detail we have to mention: If you dont have a SD2SP2 or a SDGecko Memory card with a small SD card in it, Swiss will not save settings. This is a limitation of the GCLoader and Swiss as it can't write back to the SD card in the GCloader. So all of the patches, settings, etc get lost.
    So invest in a SD2SP2, and drop a small 4gb card in it.

    Another amazing, informative and polished video from Tito! :)
    I absolutely adore my GC Loader too, I put it in my GC last month.
    I do have a few problems and I wonder if you have had them too:
    -Upon launching Swiss, I keep being greeted with a popup saying that an update is available... like what, my GC isn't connected to the internet!
    -Swiss will keep whining about not being to save the configs all the time until I decide to use an SD card on one of the memory card slots. (Gecko/action replay)

    • @MachoNachoProductions
      @MachoNachoProductions  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have noticed that too. I think Swiss is comparing its version to what it thinks the latest firmware is for the GC Loader, I too havent updated it yet. In order to save the setting you need something like the SD2SP2 which plugs into the bottom. I may do a follow up video covering this. Cheers!

    I’d call the big gaping maw where the dvd drive used to be a con but no doubt there’ll be a 3D printed piece made up for it to use with an SD extension to give it a nice svelte finished look.
    Great vid homie, I think I’ll give this one a go as soon as the piece in question is produced 👍👍

    Hey Nacho! I was wondering if you fpund any documentation on what those through-hole jumpers on the PCB are? I'm looking for a way to toggle a lid switch so I can manage my memory card and date/time settings in the GC bios.

  • @FaSMaN
    @FaSMaN 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    ODEs for the GameCube has actually existed for a very long time allready , most of the Wii odes can be converted to the GameCube with simple PCBs but at the end of the day supply of these have been decreasing over the years as long as the price is right it's not terrible to have another solution available.
    Especially if you consider that Swiss can play ISOs from a simple memory card to SD adapted or a plathora of other SD adapter's for the GameCube
