Franco was NOT an admirer of Adolf Hitler, come on¡¡¡¡¡ He was clise to him when needed, and then he changed to the Allies. Franco was Monarquist and catholic conservative, Hitler was republican, Agnostic and Socialist.

Yes, that's why the far right party does the Nazi salute to this day and Franco had a Nazi flag, given to him by Hitler, in his home till the day he died. Franco also aided the Nazis during WWII and allowed them to spy on allied forces in Spain as well as supplying the Nazis and allowing German banks in Spain during WWII. Not to mention giving Himler a list of all Jews in Spain for the final solutions and sending Jews and Spaniard political opponents to the concentration camps.

The parallels between Janos Kadar's efforts to contain dissent and maintain Communism through the economic benefits of "goulash" communism and Franco's efforts to maintain his authorian Falangist regime are both striking and ironic. Another great irony is that Spain has evolved into the more liberal and democratic society while post Communist Hungary appears to have chosen a road toward less democracy and greater authoritarianism.
