Hilarious while it narrated that Spain lost to the United States in 1898, the picture showed a fleet of Spanish galleons from the 17th century.

Im pro republic but the documentary is another piece of black legend.
They forgot to mention the important fact that franco was flown from canary islands to the africa army with a British plane and a british secret service pilot. Small detail but indicative.
Another piece of information was that spain had the 3rd or 4th largest gold reserves in the world prior to the war. Cant be that backward. Spain's economy was resurging because of ww1.

Most documentary indicate that the British and French wanted to stay out of the Spanish Civil War conflict. So why would the British fly Franco from the Canary Islands to African mainland? The gold you mention might have been looted from the Aztecs, Mayans, or Incas. The Spanish Conquistadores did go looking for gold in the New World.

@@duckbizniz663 hahaha someone got a high dose of Black Legend mate. British and French had instrests in watching Spain get ripped apart, that why they helped franco and stopped short of supporting the republic. I stopped watching, the start of this documentary is totally incorrect. Franco fought against the communists and did not cooperate but cheated the nazi's. He did not start the civil war in Spain.

This has the same main presenter and the same "experts" as seen on another video. Just a rehash and a very biased presentation. Maybe comparing Stalin and Franco would be a better topic to present. Franco was ruthless but a boy scout compared to Stalin. And the legacy of Franco was much better than Stalin. A better educated population and economy , and democracy. Stalin caused the death of tens of millions and his legacy was the ongoing dictatorship of the proleteriat- the latter term being doublespeak.

It got to a point that jewelers had informants telling them when she was planning to visit the area, so they would close the stores and avoid her plunder.
