Hi there, i am doing an essay on 'evaluate the view that the cabinet is no longer an important body' for component 2 and i am unsure of how i would structure this essay, do you have any suggestions?
I think divide up the question according the activities of cabinet. Here’s my suggestions: 1. The cabinet as a body to make all key decisions. 2. The activities of cabinet ministers as departmental heads. Do they still make policy decisions in their portfolios. 3. The cabinet’s responsibility of showing confidence in the PM.
Hi Elisa - if you mean planing outside of exams - then you should spend as much time as you need to get a good essay together. But as i tell my students, you have to get accustomed to writing essays as well as planning them and this is a good time to start.
If you mean within an exam, then planning time should not be more than a few minutes i would say - often you should come to an exam already aware of the question or a similar one. This reduces your planning time.
