I know I'm a couple years behind here, but damn man you got some TALENT. Nice build and an awesome rhythm, had to watch the end of this more than a few times! Great work man.
Hej! Na końcu filmu usłyszeć możecie tenże flecik w akcji ;) Obejrzyjcie do końca bo warto :D Hi! At the end of this video, you can hear that whistle in action ;) Make sure to watch the whole video - it's worth it :D
Hi. TOM SHEEHY here. I was watching your videos and fell in love with your copper whistle. I would love to own one so I can impress my friends with the mellow sounds. Keep up the great videos
This would have been very much better had there been some commentary to explain the process for those of us who could not clearly see what was being done or interpret what we were seeing. The sound is lovely and I would have liked more in the way of instruction so I could try to make one myself.
I personally prefer the silent process with comments bellow

This is great, i want to do exactly the same. I only don't understand one of your steps. Why do you halve the whistle, put the block out and then weld it together again? And then put the block back in?
What is that black square thing you made a hole through at 2:52 that you used to hammer that block/stick of wood through to create that cylinder shape that somehow fit perfectly snug into the fipple end? Is the black square sharpened to make the hammering easier or did you just have to hit it hard for a long time till it’s through? By the way, what’s the part called that goes into the fipple end? Great playing and excellent craftsmanship! Yahuah bless! 🙂
Playing along with you at the end on my bass pvc whistle. I made my first one yesterday and it is super fun! This video inspired me to make it and I plan on making a copper version this week
Wow! Excellent! Everything: the flute and its "woody" style, the video, the music... even the "SUBSCRIBE". I subscribed, of course! Thank you for this magic moment. Love.
Hi Ren! Beautiful instrument construction and beautiful music construction as well. One curiosity: are the instruments at 2:02 and 11:24 one and the same?
Kolego, masz jakiś patent na obliczanie gdzie powinny być dziurki? Widziałem na kilku zagranicznych filmikach, jak kolesie robią jakieś tam flety indiańskie czy inne orientalne. Jest na to jakaś metoda?
It is about the fipple and the airway alignment. You file the fipple to a sharpish but not too sharp edge and then you make sure that the wind way is like 80% above the hole like 20% below. The air should blow through to the fipple.
Check out this resource music.bracker.uk/Music/Whistle-Calculator.html Just keep in mind for transverse flutes you have to input your own dimensions because for some reason it uses the same formula as for the fipple
Awesome job , loved it I made a couple of whistles and they both ended up garbage , love yours , great job , loved the sound to , if I was near you I would of bought one from you , keep the videos rolling bud . 👍

I always coated them in a thic layer of natural lacquer :) But yes, it's a slight issue, so now I just use stainless steel for the moutpiece. However copper's toxic properties are somewhat misunderstood. It's a cumulative issue, related to the oxidized layer of copper (precisely the green one), so as long as you don't have green layer on your copper you're fine :) Its good to remember that copper is still has good anti-bacterial properties and is often used for tap water piping as well as drinking water bottles :)
Well it is NOT a tutorial/diy video, it's just to showcase the process. Someone who's already taken steps to figure out how to make flutes might find useful ideas here, just by observation. What would be the idea of making instruments for sale and at the same time teaching everyone how to do it by themselves? Makes no point (sadly) in a money-driven world. As much as I would love to share every thought behind it, quite simply I cannot afford it.
@@RenVasTerul I agree with the previous comment. Beautiful flute. Skillful flute makers have a waiting list. So what do they care if some people make one themself. Also, banging on a guitar was a distraction. Waste of time.
Beautiful work man! Amazing sound as well.
Very nice work, and music. The Sound of the Flute is fantastic, it looks good too. 👍❤️🎋

why did you cut off the top part and then put it back together again with solder? For fine tuning?

Can you tell me the spacings between the holes and what size drill for the different holes? I fancy trying to make one. Also is it 22mm copper?
How do you make the whistle part work? I have not been able to make a functioning one yet
It is about the fipple and the airway alignment. You file the fipple to a sharpish but not too sharp edge and then you make sure that the wind way is like 80% above the hole like 20% below. The air should blow through to the fipple.
At the wood insert step slowly lower the hole over and over until it sounds right.
Applausi!
Awesome, great job 🙂
Wow!
Gdzie mozna kupic ? Pozdrawiam

Great tone mate. I’m on pvc at the moment but this is something to aim for. Nice job
How is this an 'Irish Whistle' and not an English tin whistle (albeit made of copper)? What am I missing?
The tin whistle is Irish
