I have been told by several others when my lid broke that dyson had put on weak plastic hinges, true because this has happened to several of my friends with Dysons and the very same tab broke.

Unless I am missing something, there is no way it is that easy, because no matter how I twisted it (following the video), the thing just wouldn't budge. I had to saw it off. By the way, you didn't make it parallel to the horizontal, but at an angle😊
