today I am taking you through my First Impressions of the house of Naomi Goodsir.

The discovery set isn't too terribly expensive, I might give it a go. I'm interested in trying most of them. By the way, I won an auction for a sealed 200ml pewter cap Eau D'Hermes. I'm very excited for it, I'll let you know how it turns out.

Excellent catch! I managed to snag same only because it was incorrectly listed as Hermes water! No one else bid!
@@LEgoiste Hermes water? Maybe somebody who didn't know English or French did a machine translation, since Eau D'Hermes does technically mean Hermes water or something close to that.

Nice brand. One of the better brands in that realm. I own iris cendre. Really really unique. Dry ashy iris. Smells like paper on a blotter. Nice tobacco note as well. You’re right, when I first tried iris cendre its different then others I’ve tried.
Julian is great, but imo he needs to pull back on the amberwoods a little.
Iris cendre is on its way. I'm pretty happy with my Pickups from them, unless I use up this nuit de bakelite sample and decide I need a bottle lol.
Love Rasquinet but those smoked Woods in the moon have upset me a bit, could've done it better imo
@@RichMitch I know what you mean. Corpus is crazy. It smells so furry, sour and animalic the leather. I was takin back when I first tried it. Hyrax does that to me. Reminds me of a damp sour rag that’s been used to whip down the bar.
@@timetomuskup2 yes! Damp and sour. It has a tang that is a bit repellant but attractive at the same time.

Hi Rich! Super excited for your thoughts! I love all Goodsir fragrances. My personal first choice for a full bottle was Corpus Equus. It’s probably not everyone’s cup of tea, but if you spend time with horses, it will really hit a core experience (something about the care & human-animal connection that is really emotional). Love your analysis about Iris Cendre & Iris Malikhan & agree very much. 🙏❤️
Yes, as you describe, Corpus Equus is the smell of the tack room, the shine & care products for the leather, the horse sweat, the hours & hours of care. It smells of the hard work of the barn. ❤️

Yeah, isn’t Duchafour known for reusing his own work product? I mean, the pace these professionals are expected to produce original work is impossible… 🤷🏻♀️

Got this sample set a while ago. Bold, loud, somewhat creative and very well crafted stuff. Not sure would wear near people though - defo not for beginners. Niche.
I think they're fairly wearable but I'd agree they're not really beginner scents 👌
Think ya sold me on Bois d’Ascese Rich,but I still have a hankering for Corpus Equus ,Leather and animalic, it’s a problem lol 😂,great job Rich enjoy the better late than never summer 👍🙏✌️

Great impressions Rich, BdA and Iris Cendre are masterpieces IMHO (and I don't overuse that word really). Nuit de Bakelite I can appreciate the artistry but not something I'd buy.

Hey Rich! I have both serail and herod and don't get a huge amount of similarities outside of a similar awesome tobacco. Herod for me is tobacco / vanilla / spices and serail is over-ripe fruit / honey / tobacco. I definately prefer Herod and its more wearable, i do like serail if i'm in the right mood but it is soooooo sweet so that isnt often
I think Herod is more wearable as it's not as rich and dense but I get a similarity (maybe in vibe more than 1-1 smell).
That sweet tobacco thing has been *hammered* by now I just want it to stop lol.
I'd like to see something new with tobacco 🤔

Bois d'ascese and Iris Cendre are very well done and wearable. Cuir velours straight up smells like Knorr soup powder🤣
Outrageous. I wasn't huge on cuir velours either, just not for me

Love Nuit de Bakelite, though it isn't for everyone. I find it ever so slightly disturbing, in a good way
It does have this weird vegetable thing going on, very unusual
you know I get that slightly disturbing feeling from both nuit de bakelite and iris cendre. they feel kind of eerie

My two favorites from Naomi are Bois d Ascese and Cuir Velours.
I haven't sampled Iris Cendre yet, but I will.
Have you had the chance to sample Rania J Cuir Andalou or Hiram Greens Hyde?
Corpus Equus had me think of J's Andalou.
I guess that wasn't Rania's goal, but in the opening, it smelt like horse sweat.
I think I'm the only person who thought of the foul foal, but I guess I don't have a lot of horse scents.
Anyways, it's a bit different.
Hyde, I think Hiram had the fictional character in mind when he made this one.
I think it's a sample sniff for you. Raw Hyde,
I like it better than Gucci Guilty Absolute, for to me it seems finished, whereas the other doesn't.
I don't own anything from Ms Goodsir, but I do from Ms J and Mr Green.
I do have the Absolute. I got it as a tester for free from Dillard's.
Wearing JF today from Floris. Super easy wear in the heat.
The iris cendre is well worth a try, carroty and waxy. I got the bois d'ascese.
I have tried the cuir andalou and I like it and I laughed at loud at the "foul foal" 🤣
I think corpus equus is more like hyrax, in a way. Its got this tangy foulness.
I have tried hyde, I wasn't a fan. It was a monumental amount of birch BUT I did only try it once so I can't pass judgement
D'Ascece I owned and it is good. Ultimately too realistically a bonfire so I sold it on.
I never thought bonfire, I'll pay attention next time I smell it
