I think it's weird to call him unlikeable. Like yeah he was flawed, but he was absolutely the good guy for most of the story and especially at the end. It was a story of someone who was arrogant and messed up really bad, then spent the rest of his life trying to make up for it. This was one of the only games my father played all the way through, and I remember it being one of the funnest experiences I’ve had with him. One time he bounced a guy off his hood because the game glitched.
The reason the faces look "so good" is because they actually used facial tracking and 3D scanning of real people's faces to create the characters and facial animations... I remember looking at it before the game came out like "wow, that's so cool!" lol
First time i played this game when it was released. I was just blown away how realistic those facial animations are like it was definitely the first of its kind to use that kind of realism to games

What I'm saying is that it doesn't matter how much better the PS5 gets or what game consoles arrive in the future, if game studios aren't even willing to achieve goals like whatTeam Bondi did in 2011, what's the point of getting a PS5.
@@Maxmulham That's a very fair point. The number of truly great AAA games has decreased a lot in recent years. But there are a few studios that seem to consistently push the boundaries and make great games, like Arkane Studios and Rocksteady. However, it seems a lot of the most popular games in recent years were made by indie devs, and that's where the future of gaming lies at the moment.

my grandpa lived through this time and he briefly worked for the police. his main job was assisting police officers and searching police lawyers to hire lol. after he quit his job to go back on his old job, he got a gift , a wrapped box. inside was the pistol his officer colleague used. grandpa gifted it to my dad , and now i have the gun. the next inheritor is my cat
0:44 i accidentally activated game journalist mode in Amnesia:Dark Descent the first time i came across the invisible water monsters because i couldn't open the door in time.... Not my proudest moment.
Yeah, it’s a really good game. Only thing I was disappointed about was that weirdly enough it wasn’t the “police simulator” that I was wanting it to be. But it still turned out really cool
I love playing a game and just thinking "man I really wish critical would play this" and days even hours after I think that he posts. It's truly the greatest feeling
The facial animations are honestly better than 99% of the games now, they are pretty stunning still to this day. Thats…. Pretty bad, considering how old this game is.
I get where you’re coming from bc it still looks insanely good but you’re mistaken. It’s not “facial animations” per se. they fully scanned the actor’s heads. You can see behind the scenes footage demonstrating this tech. No game has ever used this tech before and probably never will. It’s highly expensive and time consuming. Don’t forget that this game was announced all the way back in 2004
If La Noire was released in todays games and genres I feel like it would be appreciated so much more than it was a true classic

“Brah wheres your chin” 😂😂 off to a great start
Just played la noire for the first time a few months ago. And while I never finished it, how far did get into the game makes me think that yes, LA noire is in fact, a masterpiece...
I was shocked at Noire's mostly lukewarm reception. It's a creative masterpiece, and one of my favorite games.
33:18 that was such a genuine “wow!” 😂
little does Charlie know that 400$ in the 40's is roughly 850-900$ now lmao
my grandpa lived through this time and he briefly worked for the police. his main job was assisting police officers and searching police lawyers to hire lol. after he quit his job to go back on his old job, he got a gift , a wrapped box. inside was the pistol his officer colleague used. grandpa gifted it to my dad , and now i have the gun. the next inheritor is my cat
I would buy a remastered version of this game for PS5, it was already ahead of its time
It was already remastered, the PS4/Xbox One version IS the remaster lol.
@@jellyfishtrifle7883 oh yeah ik I meant for current gen haha
The way Charlie says "This is like 1960" priceless
I actually hated this game when it came out but I was probably too young to appreciate the other mechanics outside of shooting random people.

guy: "hey i know you"
charlie and cole at the same fucking instant: "no you don't"
We need a compolation of Charle being in sinc of his characters
0:44 i accidentally activated game journalist mode in Amnesia:Dark Descent the first time i came across the invisible water monsters because i couldn't open the door in time.... Not my proudest moment.
Such a classic game. I'm glad it is still being enjoyed today especially by Charlie. His handling of the streets still makes me laugh uncontrollably 😂
hello bag, Please do not screen shot my nfts 😔😡🤬
thanks for being that light in my life during hard times
I see Charlie's on a retro Rockstar games trip
13:42 man really arrested a murderer then bust a big ass smile for the highschool photoshoot
I loved playing this game back in the day. Wished it got a sequel. With a few simple polishing to the gameplay, it would be even better
I'd kill someone if it ensured a good LA Noire sequel.
love going back and playing this every couple of months... never gets old
la noire did a better job of fulfilling cyberpunk promises than cyberpunk

Nene
No kidding, I wish it'd get a sequel.
It's a shame we never got a sequal. Face animation has improved so much since then.
This game would benefit from a 60fps patch.
25:07 with the hot dog cart sent my sides into orbit man
Cole contaminating every crime scene with his bare hands :')

DNA analysis wasn't invented yet
19:05 You...you didnt even hesitate, you went straight to the dark...
The facial animations are honestly better than 99% of the games now, they are pretty stunning still to this day. Thats…. Pretty bad, considering how old this game is.
sup yup, Please do not screen shot my nfts 😔😡🤬
I get where you’re coming from bc it still looks insanely good but you’re mistaken. It’s not “facial animations” per se. they fully scanned the actor’s heads. You can see behind the scenes footage demonstrating this tech. No game has ever used this tech before and probably never will. It’s highly expensive and time consuming. Don’t forget that this game was announced all the way back in 2004
I have never seen anyone make driving in a video game as entertaining as Charlie made it during these LA Noire streams
People just compare it to a gta game.
It’s one of a kind. For it’s time it is a gem.
Dunno if I’ve seen mouths more accurate while the characters are talking than in this game, really nice
I think they should make a better quality one with more storylines! That’d be the highlight of 2022!
This video literally was recommended to me and I just realized it came out exactly one year ago today !
This game is so unbelievably underrated, I sold this off to pay for some stuff and I'm regretting it watching this, might have to find it online now
hi rich, Please do not screen shot my nfts 😔😡🤬
it’s definitely not underrated lmao. it’s a very well known popular game it sold 5 million copies
"I eat guns" idk why but that had me in stitches lmao 18:59
Hey thats me
charlie has jus been playing good games lately, such a switch from his bad horror game phase
