    We try to visit Bempton Cliffs at least once a year, so it's very familiar to me! Lovely to see a TH-cam video of somewhere I'm so fond of. I echo Mark Harris's comment. It's one of my favourite RSPB reserves!

    I'm studying marine biology in Portugal and I've recently done some volunteering work with seabirds here. I became really interested in the RSPB programmes, specially in the Bempton Cliffs. After watching your work, I'm sure I want to go there. What an amazing photography!

    Great video Jon, only come across this by chance as i've just bought a G9 and Leica 100mm-400mm lens and aiming to go back to Bempton with a view to taking some better shots than with my Nikon P900 of BIF

    Bempton Cliffs is one of my favourite RSPB sites, they have put a lot of effort into accessibility. Gannets are quite possibly my favourite sea bird, if not my favourite bird full stop. I love the walk (mobility scooter ride) to the cliffs with all the skylarks, linnets etc. That site alone is worth the cost of the RSPB membership. Gorgeous images, very nice indeed. For some reason I became unsubscribed to your channel but I’ve rectified that.

    Great video . Hoping to go to Bempton soon . What gizmo have you got screwed to the bottom of tripod mount , is it attached to your camera bag strap ? I’ve Been considering one of those . 👍

      Thanks for watching Debs, not sure what you are referring to...?

    I plan to go there soon....I have a 100-400mm lens attached to a crop camera body which makes my longest focal length
    640mm do you think that will be long enough?

    Great vid. I was over from the US in May, I guess just a little before you did this and visited the same spot. Not as much luck with the puffins but plenty of other birds and not quite so many flies!
    I feel your pain on the lost audio. We're just starting up doing a similarish channel and lost our nice audio for our first trip. Really makes editing hard and means you have to miss out on some stuff but glad you got enough to include some commentary.

    Hey! Which camera and lens do you suggest would allow me to get cinematic video footage (slow motion, 120 or 240 fos) of birds close up?

    Thanks you very much Jon for a nice video. I like blue color of photo at 6:34. Very good. Did you try panning photo with theses birds? It must do very great effect, and with 600mm effective focal it not to hard to do with 1/200 sec. What do you mean? The cost is very awesome with big falls! It's spectacular!

    Looking forwards to visiting for my first time next month! A quick question regarding your shutter speed...with the GX8 would it not be preferable to lower the shutter speed (if possible) when shooting handheld as you should get sharp shots due to the dual IS? Or did you just mean because the birds are fast?

    • @JonBryantPhotography
      @JonBryantPhotography  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It depends. If you want to do a motion blur pan, then yes, slow shutter speeds work. But that's a skill. If you want sharp shots, then shutter speeds need to be fast.
