I'm visiting one of the Washington Islands and it's a solo trip! It's been so long since I traveled alone and want to get out of my comfort zone: I need to prove to myself I can do it despite some anxiety.
Specifically, I explore the southern part of Whidbey Island for the first time. It was relaxing to spend time in nature and check out the quaint town Langley. I was surprised to see so many bunnies and in an assortment of colors (I usually see brown ones in Washington State).

Growing up, my neighbors had a Summer home on Whidbey Island. We would stay there every so often. I have alot of wonderful memories on that Island as well as Lopez Island 😊.
I love going around the state where I live. My family and I always find somewhere new to go. and Now that I'm older I cant wait to travel by myself 😊💙

Was just there. Rented a cabin for a writer's retreat. Love it! The pizza trash bin is there because there is a pizza place just above that.
One of my favorites of all your videos! When I lived in Everett, Whidbey was a favorite day trip, and the thrift store was a place I stopped every time I went to the island!

You have to check out deception pass on the north part of whidbey island and you can drive across the bridge and go back without taking the ferry. It’s beautiful out there and you have to see it in person!

Solo trips are not for everyone. I did a few and personally enjoyed a lot but being accompanied, as long as you are with the good person is more fun. You can share the moment and get someone else's perspective. Plus it's not fun to eat alone!

I used to live in Coupeville. You should check out Coupeville. They have really cool mussel farm. They have one of the only functional drive in movie theaters with a digital camera. South Islanders like to bash Oak Harbor. It tends to be a class issue, north island is more blue collar/diverse and the south island is more hippy/more wealth. Oak Harbor is navy base town where people learn how to fly jets. It is the economic hub of the island. A lot of people who live in southern part of the island commute to Everett for employment. Oak Harbor have the best BBQ place in Washington.
It was so exciting to see you visit the Island I live on! If you visit North Whidbey, two stunningly picturesque spots are Ebey's Landing & Deception Pass. Captain Whidbey could be a fun food stop as well (never been but it seems so cool)

aH I used to travel to Whidbey Island all the time with my parents to visit Langley and friends who lived there! Fond memories
The northside (oak harbor) also has the navy base, which is a little more city-ish, but not really. It turns into Deception Pass state park not too far north (a few campgrounds, beaches and a bridge if you're not terrified of heights) I've gone camping there since I was little, it's one of my favorite places :) Coupeville is also cute like Langley, it's a little bigger.

I know I'm commenting a lot but OMG THE STAR STORE. That store is on the forefront of my memories from visiting Whidbey Island. I'm super surprised I recognized t. The entrance you went in looks exactly the same along with the interior and I haven't been there for over 10 years. Last time I was there they had fluffy chicken plush toys in the display and I begged my parents to let me get one haha
