Hey everyone, it’s 2024 and I updated my 2015 sonata limited se. It’s a bit easier now than when this video was made. You need a 32gb sd card; then you go to my hyundai, log in, and click technology and updates. There will be a navigation application that you will have to download to your computer before downloading the update (it was called standard 4th gen for my 2015 sonata). Then you plug in the sd card to your computer with the option to move data to the sd card. Once complete, replace the stock 16gb sd card in your car with the 32gb card u just filled. It should take awhile to update once you turn the car on but carplay is included with the update!
@@Lifewithjrr. Learn to read. The poster said that if you are following this tutorial in the YEAR 2024 with a YEAR 2015 Sonata, the screens are completely different and not easy to navigate. I understand perfectly what he meant. Apparently, you didn't.
What does apple car play give you compared to the normal? I know it gives google maps but if I do that will it use my data on the google maps? Or can I still use the navigation that comes with the car?

Angel Hernandez It can’t be done. Unfortunately the software is locked to the VIN of each car. The only way to get a new update with CarPlay is buy it for $35 from mapnsoft or go to a dealer and pay over $100.
So it seems like here in canada its not available yet for the sonata 2015.. do u think i could still maybe register on the usa site and get it downloaded and installed or will it affect the nav or something?

Austin Loflin that’s super irritating. I have a ticket submitted with Hyundai engineering now. Hoping it gets resolved. As far as I’ve found the new map update has the CarPlay update on it but it’s like 170 USD

Be sure to check using all of your vehicles information including Year of production, make, model, trim level, and which type and size of touch screen you have in your vehicle. If you have any doubts after using those references, contact Hyundai support or your local Hyundai dealership with your VIN number and they can give you a guaranteed answer.

If it's a new car beyond 2018 it should if not it's because you don't have the navigation system

If your looking to do this in 2024 then it looks completely different and isn’t easy to navigate, would love an updated video
2024 automatic comes with apple n android play so wym u can show people how to do it 😂😂

can you drive the vehicle while the car downloads the software from SD card? or does the car have to sit idle during this time?

It seems like Hyundai has removed the download link from their website as of 2019, and you cannot install Apple Carplay to 2015 Sonata anymore. :(

Update: mapnsoft has the update available for a fee of $35 for them to send an SD card. They’re legit because they actually do the updates for Hyundai
