    The Aussie team , needs to look at Qualification time for the Olympics as just a guide and take a full team with every race haveing team members in.

      Yep. Australian swimming set the standard and they're the toughest in the world. They say it's because they want those they send to contend, not just make up the numbers. In reality, it's mostly financially driven as it helps keep down costs. Not much money in swimming.
      That said, if you finish top 2 in the 100m back/fly/breast or top 6 in the 100m/200m free they likely take you for relay purposes whether you make the QT or not and you'll likely get to swim any other events you finished top 2 in whether you made the QT or not.
      If you only finish top 2 in the 200m breast/back/ fly or 50/400/800/1500 free and don't make the QT that's when you will be in trouble.

    Women’s 4x100 medley relay needs to be: backstroke: Mollie, breaststroke:kaylee, butterfly: Emma, freestyle:shayna or meg. Kaylee isn’t a good leadoff and she is fastest Australian breaststroker

    • @gustaaf1892
      @gustaaf1892 หลายเดือนก่อน

      What time has Kaylee swum for the breaststroke? I had no idea that had ever swum that competitively. It is the leg that will cost us a chance for gold in Paris. We won in Tokyo by a tiny margin because Chelsea Hodges swum out of her skin and much faster than I think anyone expected from her.

    • @aperson5237
      @aperson5237 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@gustaaf1892 kaylee went 1:06.8 in February, during a heavy training block, it was also an intense back to back double with 100 free only minutes apart, she would’ve definitely gone 1:06 low 1:05 high if she swam it here. It should be kaylee on breaststroke

    • @gustaaf1892
      @gustaaf1892 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@aperson5237 Cheers for the response. I doubt they'll do it, but based on that information it would seem to be the right choice. She obviously trains for breaststroke as part of her medley training, so they'd have to know what she is capable of. The breaststroke is the leg that will cost us any chance of a gold medal in Paris if they go with all the specialists based on current performances. I'd back Molie to improve her backstroke time as well over the next six weeks. Hopefully Emma can get closer to her old form in the butterfly now that it is her only individual swim in Paris.

    • @aggelos_5216
      @aggelos_5216 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Its not that they're dying (most of the time), its just the fact that the world record line is simulated as an average pace throughout the whole distance instead of being simulated according to the exact pace that the swimmer had during the wr swim. Hope you understood what I meant I have no idea how else to explain it

      @@aggelos_5216 I think it used to be like that many years ago. Then, as an evolution, they started using the average for each pool (average from 0-50m, and then, from 50-100 meters, and so on). But this one they are using on the trials is just plain wrong. Absolutely wrong! It's almost embarrassing. In the 100 backstroke for man, the guy was ahead of the line at 80 meters! And then, finished 2 seconds behind. NO WAY! In the 100 backstroke for women, the 3 of them were ahead of the line at 75 meters! NO WAY! They should fix it!
