Metropolitan Jonah Lwanga backs Dr. Kizito Lwanga in fight with President Museveni over politics

New chairman of the Uganda Joint Christian Council, Metropolitan Jonah Lwanga has joined fellow Archbishop Dr. Cyprian Kizito Lwanga in telling off politicians who say clerics should not comment on political matters
Metropolitan Lwanga who is also the head of the Orthodox Church told NTV that religious leaders have the right to comment on political matters like any other Ugandan since the issues in contention not only affect them as individuals but also their flock.
According to Metropolitan Lwanga, the right to speak on matters that affect the Christians they lead is inherent and not granted by government.
