  • LDSGirlDoes Come Follow Me: Early morning study and reflection on The Book of Mormon. I'll go where you want me to go Dear Lord.
Name of the Week: My Fortress
Hymn of the Week: Lead Me to Eternal Life
In the same vein of our New Testament challenge we're going to carry on with likening the scriptures to us, finding the passages that speak to us and creating statements that will help us incorporate those verses into our daily lives. We're also going to focus on Christ-like attributes. Each month focuses on a specific attribute of Christ such as hope, faith, charity, long-suffering. Each month that will be the focus of the scripture study to find those attributes of Christ in the scripture or how to develop them. On the weeks where there's not enough scripture study to make it possible to have enough meat each day to study we'll be supplementing in conference talks that have to do with the Christ-like attribute of the month. I have selected three talks per attribute but sometimes there will be more than 3 talks per month. I've left those to your choosing. You can choose a talk based on the Christ-like attribute of that month or whatever you're feeling you would like to supplement. If you'd like a free digital of the reading schedule I'm using feel free to email me at rnkpaperco@gmail.com
    🎉 General Conference Goals 🎉
During General Conference I like to set goals for the next 6 months. In the April Conference it was impressed upon me that I need to strengthen my relationship with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, improve my prayers, to learn my covenants and to "live inside them." To achieve these goals I've set a plan that I believe Heavenly Father has guided me towards.
⭐First Goals: Is to study the names of Christ that I have found while doing my personal scripture study. Each Sunday I will randomly pick from a list I have created, study all I can about it, and pray that name back to Him. If it's "Deliverer", for example then I will call Jesus and Heavenly Father "My Deliverer" in my prayers and look for ways He/They are that to me each day.
⭐ Second Goal: Is to pray a hymn. One day while listening to hymns I was like "That's a prayer. I wish I could pray like that." So, I've gone through the hymnal and TH-cam subscriber suggestions and picked 24 hymns I would love to model my prayers after. I will be listening to these hymns, praying them and finding ways to incorporate their meanings into my prayer life.
⭐Third Goal: Is to go learn my covenants and "live inside them." In the most basic sense I know what the covenants I've made with Heavenly Father are but in Conference I felt the inspiration to really learn what they are and to incorporate those principles more deliberately in my life. I'll start on this one once I get a handle on the other two.
If you would like to join me in these goals I would be so honored! If you want the lists I've created you can email me and I can send you a digital copy. Thank you for joining me on my journey!

That’s a good verse you chose. That account made me think about how when I was younger I would get on my knees in prayer, asking Father should I do this or that, should I go here or there, is this the right thing for me to do? I don’t do that much anymore. I pretty much make most of my choices based on what I think is right, on the promptings I get rather than formally asking through prayer. Not sure if this is right or wrong but it’s the way I do things now most of the time and I feel that I have been making good decisions. I suppose the important thing is to be following what you feel Heavenly Father wants you to do. Not sure if that made sense.

Good morning. Yay Friday! I picked verse 27. They were a distinguished and honest and upright people. They made a choice to follow God completely in all obedience. They didn’t doubt or falter in their commitment, despite the circumstances. I love that!🤍

Listening to your Friday video on Saturday. If you ask the class of examples of when they did the basics and they had a good experience applying that principle. I haven't listened to the talk yet but focusing on how we consecrate ourselves now that are different from the pioneers or those in the 1900-2000 time period. ❤😊❤ you will do fine! Let the Spirit teach

❤😊❤ Don't you hate when you buy something and it's not very helpful!!! You will do fine tomorrow! I think he words that stuck out to me when I listened to the talk was Testimony of Jesus. Being Valiant and Zealous. I guess consistency is important! Going back to Alma 27. I picked verses: 29 Therefore, they would suffer death in the most aggravating and distressing manner which could be inflicted by their brethren, before they would take the sword or cimeter to smite them.
30 And thus they were a zealous and beloved people, a highly favored people of the Lord. The anti- Nephites would rather die than pick up their swords. In our days, swords can be addictions or our anger, being judgemental. I like the discussion on sacrificing being different from consecration. Some outside of church would think living the law of sacrifice would be paying tithing or living the Word of Wisdom. However I think of them as being consecrated to the lord. I sacrifice the personally characteristics that don't help me consecrate my time or attitude to living the gospel. I think as we become more disciples of Christ we serve more, we have the spirit more. We are more inclined to give of our time & talents to serving others. Both in and out of the church❤😊❤

I like the way you are going with your lesson. Another idea might be to pick out an example or two or three from the scriptures of individuals that were valiant in their testimony and examine what it was they did that shows that they were.

Maybe write Sacrifice & Consecration on the board and ask the class what they believe would be considered a Sacrifice then what they believe would be considered consecration and then discuss what the talk says.🤷🏻‍♀️
