I know... Paul saved 19 break points... 19!!! That is sick!!! ... Tommy played out of his mind and was actually more mentally tough than Alcaraz, and still lost in 4.
The amount of breaking points Tommy saved in the first set was crazy, I do feel his serve was to poor to really challenge Alcarez over three sets, not Tommy best overall match.
Carlos is definitely the fav heading into the semis against danil but Medvedev can definitely make it interesting On the other side I see Djoker coming out on top despite Fritz playing exceptional on grass and musetti playing the best he’s ever played on grass Same with Alex
Yea I could see that only if Alex starts hot early If Djoker gets going he doesn’t stand a chance Fritz has a mental hurdle against Novak he can’t get over Musetti would be scarier if it was on clay He’s playing great on grass tho despite it being his worst surface
I thought Carlos was in trouble after being down 5-7 0-2. I was thinking oh dear, he may have to come back from 2 sets to 0 down for the first time in his career to survive this one against this difficult match-up with Paul and that hope maybe Paul drops off a touch. What does Carlos do? He only drops 2 more games in each of the three remaining sets that he played and blasted Paul off the court with controlled aggression and variety... a serious change of tactics from earlier where he was grinding it out and counterpunching with Paul in the first half of the match where he was losing that tactical game to Paul. Stunning turnaround and Paul did match him with his own bag of tricks with his variety for another set and a half but then eventually ran out of answers to the Spaniard's tactical change. Carlos didn't need to come back from 2 sets to 0 down.
