I really enjoyed this set the first time I saw it when it first came out, and I still do. But being older you really hear how much he says 'alright' lol.
The more you listen to anyone, stand up, voiceover, TH-camrs etc, you will pick up on their way of taking and idiosyncrasies. Many people say um or ugh a lot, or like Bill Burr always saying “right” to the audience in his standup. It also depends on the standup. Bill as an example is like having a conversation with the crowd, even though it’s a practiced set, he’s loose with it. Seinfeld is telling a bunch of jokes strung together. Carlin was talking to you, not with you, but it was all worked out. Tom Segura tells stories. It’s all in how they deliver but remember none are trained orators, just guys who love making people laugh.
John Caparulo is like a vicious comedy predator who just pounces on you and beats the shit out of you with jokes, mercilessly, never letting up until you're on the ground, rolling around laughing and gasping for air.
