- The Truth About Drum Isolation - #AscensionTechTuesday - EP155

I finally talked to my Doctor about shy baffles. I was embarrassed to use them for so long. He referred me to this video and now i use drum isolation. My mixes are firmer and last longer than before. Thanks Chad for helping me out.
Safe to use with a heart condition, too.
Great info
@@hermandavid1757 thanks Herman!
Hi Chad, did you measure a spl difference without the drum isolation vs with? If so, what was the difference?
No. We use this for events so we usually set up the booth the day before the drummer arrives.
What overall SPL are you shooting for in the middle of the room?

@@AWTechTuesday That's all well and good, however since I can't be in that room, dB in the center of the room is the only metric I have to compare the spl you get to what I know. I was just curious what numbers you were seeing. We played agressive Rock this weekend and had no baffles or shields. We were in the 95 dB range. Everything was miced and the drummer was hitting as hard as he could.
