Summer season in bangladesh is very hot....and in hill is more hoter than land..You're from cold county could have sunburn..avoid afternoon to go outside...
Its amazing, the way you are exploring Bangladesh. Although my parents grew up in Bangladesh (Sylhet). We grew up in London and only been back to Bangladesh few times but never ventured out of Sylhet. Mainly because of the fear of the unknown. We were told these areas are not safe. I suppose you being a English 'white' lady your safety is almost guaranteed as the Bangladesh Govt would not dare risk any bad press. The Bangladesh Govt is always banging on about the tourism prospects of the country but they really need to build the infrastructure for tourism e.g safety first and foremost, maybe visible tourist Police. Transport options to and from these places. Permission and assistance for building hotels, boat tours, maybe build cable cars etc etc, so many possibilities that would add to the natural beauty of these areas. They really are missing a massive opportunity. Perhaps you can give them your perspective as a foreign tourist which they really want to attract. Thanks for visiting. I might try it myself one day.

Here in kaptai lake the most tranquil and thrilling part is boat ridding , sitting on the roof of the boat and enjoy the beauty of lake which will eventually go through you across the hill...and the sun will stare you from the top by that time the balmy air will let your hair dance and you will just hear zzzz and dub dub dubb( boat engine noise) and maybe you will complain for the noise but after a few seconds your subconscious mind will say it's ok ! When you will come back having a tour of the lake you may see the big moon and hers beauty is carrying the lake as well .And finally a little girl come across you and say ,🌹this is for you Carrie , take care and come again and you notice some fanush(sky lantern) which is going up and trying to add some extra beauty with nature!❤
