Having been to Hungry I can honestly say it is the best country in all of Europe, the people are very friendly, the food is awesome, the history is vibrant and the hunting is spectacular.
Absolutely Beautiful animal!!! You have some excellent PH'S and guides! The videographer's work is awesome and the editing is awesome !!! Excellent shooting and hunting!!!
Waidmannsheil! Nice video. Please do not forget. Deer has antlers not horns. Antlers are grown by members of the deer family, shed and regrown each year. While horn "is a permanent pointed projection on the head" and "horns are distinct from antlers, which are not permanent."
That woman beauty guide, Alain fell in love with Adrienn. With a guide so wherever I go hunting, it would not leave Hungary more lol. Great video Alain.
I would love to see Hungary. I served in Berlin, GE (6-502 Infantry) 1985-88. Germany was still an occupied country and the Allies were granted 20% of the capitol game in a drawing by lottery. 1985, my first year, was going to school and passing the prufung, the second year was a Chamois in Bavaria, but the third year I won the lottery for a Red Stag in the state forest of Hanover north of Frankfurt. I hunted five days and on the last morning saw a lesser stag with does .....and then a 10 yr old Krona Hirsch came down out of the dark timber and they fought. It was like a movie. This was on a hill side across the valley from where I was and before range finders. We ran down hill for a hundred meters and the Forestman (guide) said I had to attempt the shot from where we were....no way to get closer.....this was before range finders. We estimated 330 meters. I made the shot standing and leaning against a tree....no other position was possible...my heart rate was up from running....and I wasted precious seconds discovering it was too steep to shoot prone or sitting and the stag had gotten up to the edge of the dark timber and one more step he would be gone. At the shot the stag dropped right where he stood across the valley. When we got back to the guest house hunters from three villages came with their horns and the bar tab was on me. An enormous amount of beer was poured. I had to wire Berlin to pay up so I could leave town. Local hunters brought two sets of antlers he had dropped in previous years. I will never forget passing through the check point between west and east Germany with the antlers in the back seat of the car and all the meat in the trunk (I paid the trophy fee and bought the whole deer :0) Later that fall/winter I had to ship the skull and antlers to the annual trophy show. There was an article in the newspaper, and I eventually received a gold medal. I have hunted for most of my 75 years but there has been nothing like taking that King of the German forest. Congrats on yours.
Great Video! But it would have been interesting if there was mention of the Caliber (I can see a Blazer though) and the Bullet used. Also, after the animal is down some focus on the placement of the bullet. (It looked like a Heart Shot) Thanks!
