Thanks Callie! I used the tour brochure as a guide for this run through, but there was so much to see, you could explore so much detail in every room if you had time!
Wow, what a beautiful castle. And an inspiring tour. VERY worthy of national historic site status. Amazingly preserved, and presented. If I lived in Victoria, I'd likely visit a few times a year, it is that inspirational! Thank you for this tour!
@@ExitThrutheGiftShop Absolutely amazing! Well worth a return visit. I find structures like this very inspirational, and inspiring to everyone associated with the castle. I imagine there would be many resumes received from students, for the honour of being a tour guide.
Well , now i have two things to do next time i`m in town . To see that Lancaster in Sydney and this . i had no idea this was there . Thanks for the upload , cheers .
I believe this was tartarian Era and the fireplaces weren't used w wood. They used energy transfer from the either I wish we had more history recorded from all the places "founded"
To be honest, Robert Dunsmuir was a poor coal miner who stumbled upon a huge coal deposit and became incredibly wealthy. He paid his employees so poorly they tried to strike. He had three of them shot. Just a terrible man. The place is very big but I wouldn’t say it was inviting.

Well done! I used to volunteer as a docent at Craigderroch and you hit all the main points of the history that we would point out.

There are rumors of ghosts there - I may do a follow up video on that topic 👻

It’s like being poor and winning the lottery.
Xmen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I believe that XMen was filmed at the nearby Hatley Castle, but Craigdarroch was used for filming of The Boy / The Boy 2.
