Hello John, No the fishspy wont sit upright on its own you will alway need the tension on the line coming from the lead to do it, you will soon get the jist of it make sure you have a strong line and a 5 ounce lead, hope that helps. regards Matt

If your phone is set to search for wifi and you don't see it, then i think something is wrong with the device and you may need to send it back. when you try and log on for the first time you are prompted to input your code
Please remember you do need to pair your device first Go to wifi options and type fishspy followed by your code on the box. then press connect. Load your browser (I use Crome) type in the top bar (address bar) 192.168.4.101 you should now be connected IF ITS APPLE LET ME KNOW ITS DIFFERENT
I purchased it from a friend who bought a job lot, if i was to plug it into a computer would i be able to get any information from it do you know? Thanks
OK, you can connect to the PC and it acts like any other flash drive and will self install go to C/ and look for the latest drive letter in my case its F/from there you can access any video files but to adjust the settings you need to connect to the device. not really sure why yours isn't connecting? SAMSUNG ANDROID should work fine. Lets do a check list turn on the float... is it flashing red ? yes good, if no charge up the float via PC. after a hour or so try transmitting again, still no flashing red light then you have a problem with the device. If you have a flash get your phone go to settings/ wifi and disconnect from any service and as above Type Fishspy followed by your code on the box. (make sure its the right code) for example Fishspy-999 and not the serial number if you don't have the code or the last three or four numbers that are unique to the device your screwed. its a way to stop folk from steeling it from a crack off if you don't have the code you cant connect to that device find the code type in as shown including the dash (but with your number) then press connect Load your browser (I use Crome) type in the top bar (address bar) 192.168.4.101 you should now be connected. let me know how you get on regards Maff
Supposed to be 2yrs in development to get this item perfect ? Then some of these designers must be dumb or stupid.. because the most simplest of things that's at fault with this item is the wire attachment on the base of the unit.. it obstructs the camera view, its annoying to see that in front of the lens on the video every time ? Could be better quality aswell instead of a bit of wire, after all it is its main attachment and to expensive to loose ! Otherwise a good bit of kit..
I wont deny I didnt look at that wire and thought Hmmm rather disappointing, I wont deny i looked at the way it unlocks and locks and thought bit of a pain too but I cant deny that it give me great confidence that im fishing in the right spot and not sat on top of a clump of weed. yes could be better for sure, i use top of the range 50lb braid to make sure i dont loose this bugger, great comment K777866 thanks regards maff

No not updated it yet m8 but wanted to keep the colour video so I could make everything out if you know what I mean but I am still new to the camera I've posted a colour vid on the canal and the canal very dark and black not quite the best vid but getting used to using it once mastered think it would be very interesting and useful many thanks m8

should it stand bolt upright in the water? Mine just lays on its side, any help would be appreciated.

@@MaffTUK everytime I cast mine out the signal goes and don't get it back till basically 5ft away
I connect to fishspy on my Samsung edge but says no internet connection so how do I open up browser with no connection?

mine was flashing red and I couldn’t find it on WiFi so I added it manually with the code on the box and it works perfectly now 👍

Didn't work well in dark water couldn't see anything so made a biro LED light work's in the darkest ov waters and canal perfect Crystal clear video
