Thanks so much for the footage Walt! BNSF’s early years are basically my favorite era of the RR! It’s sad to know most of the power they had back then is no longer in use. Like every six axle Dash 8 has been retired including all standard cab B40s. Many of said retired Dash 8s looked really rough too. They still have most of the wide cab B40s left, some have since been scrapped or sold but at least some of the remaining ones are being rebuilt and repainted. I was also surprised to see the infamous Ex BN 5017 appear in this. If you didn’t know, 5017 was involved in the horrific Lac Magantic Rail Disaster back in 2012 or 13. Not sure what happened to 5017 ever since, but I’m guessing it’s been scrapped.
AWESOME sights and sounds of all them EMDs working hard. I sure miss hearing that on a regular basis. Thanks for sharing and enjoyed watching. have a nice rest of your evening Walt.(Steve)

This was awesome Walt!
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed the show.
Great job! Those were some good days and colorful power too.
It was a fun era in railfanning, to be sure.
51:24 is that the sound of a B30-7AB?
I'm sure it's in there.
1:27 The front part of the cab of GP38-2 #2100 has stripes as well as the front of the nose.
Another BN experimental paint scheme, of which there was a handful.
@@WaltLoevyActionTrainVideos I see.
What did you think of this at 20:05?
Not too bad having been shot on a cloudy day.
30:50 three B units?
I know, right?
@@WaltLoevyActionTrainVideos Um, yeah. Did any of these BN B30-7ABs lead those trains too?
No. Lead locomotives must have control stands, which the 7ABs did not have.
Hey Walt you should send rapido trains a product suggestion about doing an ho scale BN B30-7AB
Thanks for the tip.
I love the cabless B30-7s. I have an Overland HO scale #4071 with the blister on the hood.
😎 Cool
