  • Seconds Out's Ayman Khan speaks with HoF writer Thomas Hauser to hear his thoughts on Oleksandr Usyk crowned undisputed heavyweight champion after defeating Tyson Fury. Thomas runs through that round 9, the rematch, IBF title situation, Anthony Joshua possibly in the mix and Usyk standing amongst the great heavyweights.

It was when Fury started to fight on the front foot when he was clipped. Fury being more aggressive will result on Usyk KOing him faster this time.

Because fury played on their superior complex beliefs and emotions, claiming that every top hw must beat the American champion to be the best. Wilder has been the only legitimate usa hw champion since 21st century. Europe has dominated hw's boxing. He beat USA champ wilder so they respect him more even though the talent pool has been in Europe.

@@JohnSmith-bu3fw because he was saved by the ref 😉. If the knockdown is called the first time the ropes hold him up he would have never regained his feet so the fight would have been waived off. Usyk had his left hand cocked ready to go until the ref grabbed it 🤣🤣🤣

In the last Colby Covington fight most of the fans in the arena cheered for the UK fighter, and almost all of us wanted to see jake Paul get smashed by either Anderson Silva (Brazilian) or Tommy Fury (tho most of us don't like the fury's, we prefer a Fury win over cringe-master Jake Paul).

People tend to think that only Fury will make adjustments in the rematch, Usyk will also use his experiences and the flaws of fury that he saw and use this to improve in the next fight.
Didn’t people learn that all these „ all you have to do is to jump on Usyk“ is bs? Many people tried… none of them succeeded. Doesn’t have to mean that fury can’t win - but the way people talk about it take credit from Usyk. Give the man the respect he deserves!

  • @wispboy0704

To say the second Joshua Usyk fight was close is ridiculous. It may have been on the dodgy scorecards but in no way was it remotely close !

  • @jrnmadsen2710
    @jrnmadsen2710 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

Even the most British commentators had Usyk winning by a large margin. Forget the score cards.
The ref gave Fury 20 seconds to recover in round 9. Outstanding nice, friendly ... and rich ref. Next step was the ref would offer Fury a hot cup of coffee and a massage.
There was no way Fury - or AJ could defeat Usyk. People without understanding this sport focus on simple and easy to understand stuff. Not the decisive factors.
    "Tallest and heaviest wins" !!!!
Yes, but so do the fastest, smartest, highest IQ, skills and most adaptable boxer. And Usyk is a very, very tough cookie too.
Being obese, tall, slow and in reality average skilled is not the tools to fight Usyk. It was a classic Usyk tactic. It never fails. From the first second, hight intensity, pressure, attack, movement. Usyk wins and loses some rounds, that's ok. It burns a lot of gas.
In round 9, Fury was out of gas and slowed down. The fight was over. Usyk dominated round 9-10-11-12. This tactic wins every time. Usyk has a gas tank delivering 12 rounds at full speed. No one else has.
Usyk just had to learn how to apply this tactic in heavyweight,- against huge and slow men.
    It worked too in cruiserweight.
Fury would have loved to be more aggressive,- but he can't be. Attack means opening the defence. Getting hit by counters. Fury figured that out in first round. Fury had to stay defensive and try to counter. But Usyk hunted Fury down, making Fury burn gas.
I discussed this endlessly before the AJ fight and now Fury. People can't understand Usyk got some very dangerous weapons. Speed, movement, intelligence, hugely skilled, adaptability and a huge, huge gas tank. This beats "tall and heavy".

The fight could have been scored 115 112 usyk or 115 112 fury or anything between. There were 6 rounds that only a punch or 2 landed seperated the winner. Out of those 6 , 3 fury landed more BUT fury threw more punches in 2 of those rounds he landed less so it wouldnt he out of the question to see the round for fury for agression or thinking more landed than did. That would make 114 113 fury and some tgink fury took the 12 coming on strong showing agression after being out the last 3 rounds then that wouod be 115 to 112 fury. Those are all possible outcomes. To be fair if fury wasnt messing arounx in the 9th and got caught he wouldnt have lost that round by 2 and tye next 2 rounds for sure. If you are talking compubox just looking at numbers usyk beat fury but like i said 6 rounds came down to just a punch or 2 landed over the opponent. I think if fury trains and doesnt mess around he will win the rematch.

They act like beating “one Wilder” was greater than or equal to AJ beating Dillian Whyte, Parker, Povekin, fight Ruiz twice & going 1-1, and Kubrat Pulev combined. It’s bullshit.
