I was there and the best moment of this concert was when Davy sang Daydream believer. It was such joy when he asked the.audience to sing along with him and they did. Total strangers put their arms around each other s shoulders and sang and swayed. There was a sense of comradary between all of us Monkees fans. and it felt great
Brilliant song, Always reminds me of my friend adrian who passed away in 1989 and we used to play this in my car while driving around. Still thinking of you mate.
Betty Bartley I had the pleasure of meeting Davy a few times...he really was a warm and genuine man. It was obvious that he loved and appreciated his fans. It really was a shock and a great heartbreak for many who knew him that he was taken from us, his family and all who loved him. I’ve been to 9 Monkees shows and have seen him perform solo twice; since he passed, I just can’t bring myself to go back because Davy was a driving force of the Monkees. He also proved that he came from poverty and made it happen for him. It sounds selfish but the Monkees aren’t the same without Davy...I’ll love him forever(too). 💗💗💗
There will never be another Davy Jones. Thank you for all the beautiful music and memories Davy. You and your music will carry on in our hearts and lives forever.
It just doesn’t seem possible that it will be 6 years in a few short weeks that we lost this incredible talent..I miss him so very much, he will forever have my heart
Remembering Davy Jones today. 12 years gone!! Time so flies.. Randy A Carlisle // DJ // KSGV Seagoville Tx // KTOJ Thousand Oaks Ca // WNYC-DB New York City
I'm glad I got to see the Monkees twice. I also saw Micky and that was a sad situation because he was performing maybe a week after Davy passed away. He tried to sing Daydream Believer as a tribute but he got all choked up. He told the audience that it was hard for him to be there performing knowing that his friend was gone. Sad.
The time I first saw Davey Jones It was at the concert in Seabreeze park I actually saw Davey Micky And Peter Tork I spoke to them and said You guys are my idea of music group ai 💘 Love your songs
This is what I would have seen if I'd been able to get to Coney Island that night! Wow...it would have been such a thrill to see The " Monkees " Ive loved all my life...finally in person!!! Davy was my favourite ...but it's hard to say because they're all great and unique...each cute and talented in their own way!
Mi hermana me envió este vídeo me hizo llorar nuestros amores de jóvenes David Jones DIOS lo tenga en su gloria la leyenda the monkyes sencillamente hermoso
I saw the four of them at Jack Murphy stadium San Diego in 1986. Wonderful Time we had . Gary Puckett , Grass Roots , and hermans hermits. I aksj saw end if padre gane against philkies with Mike Schmitt on 3rd base.
Oh boy. I saw Paul McCartney 2 times here in Brazil, and he sang Hey Jude, Yesterday, Let it be... etc, with the same force as at the 60's. I think when you are a singer and you love your job, it's great to sing again and again and again the same songs.
I was at the NYCB show of this tour, which I think took place the night before this gig. This would be the 9th time that I’d see the Monkees perform as a trio. Because they’d had such amazing reviews from their performance, they were immediately booked for another performance at this theater; I’m not sure if the same happened with the other NY venues. However, the tour was canceled; Micky had said that it was due to “professional reasons.” I don’t think that he nor anyone had any idea that this would turn out to be the last tour in which Davy would be with them. I had met Davy personally a few times in which he’d proved himself as a warm genuine person who loved and appreciated his fans’ support; I was heartbroken when I’d learned that he’d passed away from a heart attack. When Mike Nesmith joined Micky and Peter for the tribute tour, I just couldn’t find it in me to get to the show because I’d felt like an integral part of the magic had died. It was more heartbreaking when I read Micky’s description of how he tried to prepare for the tour; as best as I remember he’d said something to the effect of: “I was waiting for Davy...then I realized that he wasn’t there.” Rest in peace David Thomas Jones.
This song is such a time capsule. Automatically takes you straight back to 1967!

Do you think he ever got sick and tired of singing this song??
No. You can tell how much he enjoys singing it! 😎
Micky would look so much better without those awful hats he always has on! It's not like he's bald - he's not Phil Collins!
