I love the Decepticon trash-talk. They were dogging on each other more than the Autobots. No wonder they lost. There was some serious Autobot courage displayed in this episode. Definitely one of my top 5 favorites.
The Autobots are like real friends who joke and rib each other, meanewhile the Decepticons are actively trying to hurt each other, hence why they always fail due to their lack of trust. The Autobots know that life ain't a solitary path.
If I remember correctly, Thundercracker's fact files stated he was uncertain of the Decepticon cause. This episode is the only one that gives credence to this (IDW's comics do so more certainly).

Ya. Brawn survived a blast to the chest by Megatron's fusion cannon, and a shot to the head by Soundwave, but one shot near the neck was enough to kill him in the movie. If anything, aside from the idea of "kill the old to replace with the new because toys", u could say they managed to upgrade their weapons to be more effective against the Autobots
@@CloudRollerFox I remember watching a director’s cut of 1986 Transformers the movie and if I remember correctly there was plot point that was dropped that involved the Autobots losing power which is why Megatron was able to kill them so easily. When Optimus transforms to go after Megatron he drives over a dam and apparently there was supposed to be some connection with the Autobots not being at full strength.

Used to love Brawn with a passion. Was ready to bring it to Soundwave, Shockwave and even had Megatron calling him by name. The "minibots" (as they were nicknamed) were an awesome bunch. Brawn, Windcharger, Cliffjumper, Gears, Huffer and Bumblebee. Could never understand why when they needed someone small they always sent Bumblebee on missions when he was clearly the weakest of the bunch. (That said, when they first land on earth Prime does send Hound and Cliffjumper to 'observe' and Cliffjumper ends up taking this massive gun out and tries to end Megatron lol, maybe Prime switched up his tactics after that). Hurt my heart how Megatron took Brawn out with one shot in the 86 movie.

I loved seeing Braun and Windcharger have a solid role in this episode and try to take on Megatron by themselves. Braun's insults were great. Windcharger was always one of my favorite Transformers, and his toy was probably the one I played with the most. I'm still scarred from his death in the movie.
The first episode I ever watched of the series, always loved Transformers when I was a kid and discovered the original movie on a UMD for the PSP. Watched it first then realised I’d missed out on seasons 1 and 2. My old man then bought me DVDs of this series and I was hooked and became a huge fan of G1 after it! Truly a great series and holds great memories for me.
Yup they do it quite a lot, it's not even just decepticons transformers just conveniently forget that they can transform when they just opt to run or in the seekers cases fly to save themselves,in one of the side stories the Autobots I think even joke about why Starscream would climb and fall off a mountain when he could fly

It's always something to think of how Spike got to be so familiar with the Autobots that he went from barely understanding enough about their circuitry as a kid to get Skyfire repaired enough to return to battle to becoming such an expert that he was able to follow Brainstorm's plans over 20 years later to create the first five Autobot Headmasters, help modify those plans to create the Targetmasters and modify Cerebros and rebuild the ancient Hive city that Cerebros found to create Fortress Maximus. And he created Fortress Maximus in enough time to save Earth and Cybertron from being destroyed by the Plasma Energy Chamber while having enough insight to process the extra solar energy from the just ceased overload of the sun to bring back Cybertron's Golden Age.
Love G1 Transformers Brawn was one of the strongest little autobots ranked 7 in strength. The same blast he got from Megatron in the show is exactly the same he got in the Transformers the movie, was pissed that he got killed.
This episode was split into 5 minute chunks for UK's TV-AM Roland Rat show. I recorded it every day and watched it for YEARS. Gave me a deep love of TF's and Sunbow animation!
This is the only episode I remember where Thundercracker actually had a character. He was the first toy I owned so he was my favorite Transformer. That's why I loved this episode.

Brawn takes a fusion cannon blast to the chest and topples back, but none the worse for wear here. Later he would take a similarly powerful blast to the shoulder and just keel over dead.
It's a real treat watching these G1 episodes in their entirety. This is one episode where the Decepticons get their rears handed to them by the Autobots in hand-to-hand combat. Didn't happen too much in animation. More in live-action. The dialogue is one of the best from season 1 too, especially with the various Decepticons digging at each other. I'm pretty sure Sideswipe and Wheeljack weren't in the previous episode 'Fire in the Sky', so Skyfire shouldn't know who they are. Question - if all it took was some drilling and heat treatment to free Skyfire, why didn't the Autobots just do that at the end of 'Fire in the Sky'?
The fact that Megatron just lets Lazerbeak sit on his shoulder as he fires on the Autobots. No other Decepticon gets the same respect than the cadettes

The Autobots were low on power ("We don't have enough energon cubes to power a full-scale assault."), and so their shields couldn't take a beating like they do in these early episodes. Think of it like a prize fighter who hasn't eaten in a week. Think he can still do as good as he did on a full stomach?
How ironic is that the 4 decepticons that enter the pyramid after Megatron blows a hole in it ( Megatron,Soundwave,Skywarp and Rumble) are ALL voiced by Frank Welker.
Soundwave's cassettes are really huge in season 1...look at how big Laserbeak is, perched on Megatrons shoulder. The size of the mini-bots is more in scale with the 'normal' Autobot cars too.

Brawn is My favorite mini vehicle. Pipes is after wards. Not only he had strength But lot of courage too. Funny how he survived a shot to the head. Which would have killed him right there. But in the movie. In the Comics GI Joe comics. He was vaporized By A G2 megatron. He was brave enough to take on him even after Megatron. Blew up Steeljaw & Chase, Why Brawn is my favorite. It's always something to think of how Spike got to be so familiar with the Autobots that he went from barely understanding enough about their circuitry as a kid to get Skyfire repaired enough to return to battle to becoming such an expert that he was able to follow Brainstorm's plans over 20 years later to create the first five Autobot Headmasters, help modify those plans to create the Targetmasters and modify Cerebros and rebuild the ancient Hive city that Cerebros found to create Fortress Maximus. And he created Fortress Maximus in enough time to save Earth and Cybertron from being destroyed by the Plasma Energy Chamber while having enough insight to process the extra solar energy from the just ceased overload of the sun to bring back Cybertron's Golden Age.
Love G1 Transformers Brawn was one of the strongest little autobots ranked 7 in strength. The same blast he got from Megatron in the show is exactly the same he got in the Transformers the movie, was pissed that he got killed.

This is the only episode I remember where Thundercracker actually had a character. He was the first toy I owned so he was my favorite Transformer. That's why I loved this episode.
Megatron was really trying to kill Brawn in this episode.

It's a real treat watching these G1 episodes in their entirety. This is one episode where the Decepticons get their rears handed to them by the Autobots in hand-to-hand combat. Didn't happen too much in animation. More in live-action.
The dialogue is one of the best from season 1 too, especially with the various Decepticons digging at each other.
I'm pretty sure Sideswipe and Wheeljack weren't in the previous episode 'Fire in the Sky', so Skyfire shouldn't know who they are.
Question - if all it took was some drilling and heat treatment to free Skyfire, why didn't the Autobots just do that at the end of 'Fire in the Sky'?

I don’t understand if Brawn is one of the strongest Autobots then why did he die so easily in the Movie? Oh wait they wanted to discontinue his toy. Lame!!!!
The Autobots were low on power ("We don't have enough energon cubes to power a full-scale assault."), and so their shields couldn't take a beating like they do in these early episodes. Think of it like a prize fighter who hasn't eaten in a week. Think he can still do as good as he did on a full stomach?

Soundwave's cassettes are really huge in season 1...look at how big Laserbeak is, perched on Megatrons shoulder. The size of the mini-bots is more in scale with the 'normal' Autobot cars too.
Vultures aren’t exactly parrot size, so Laserbeak is a big bird bot.
