There is a crystal of massive power out there. Both sides become aware of it and the Decepticons reach it first. It can power a weapon destructive enough to eliminate the Autobots and decide the fate of Earth once and for all. Only Windcharger, Brawn and Skyfire are in range to stop them before it's too late.

I love how Thundercracker was able to get away with calling Megatron geeky. He’s lenient with everyone except Starscream
Because star scream literally says he will kill Megatron to be leader every episode and has fired on Megatron like five times
Well I mean would you let go on someone who literally tried to kill you many times? I don't think I would have the same patience as Megatron sassiness to Screamer, I would straight up kill him first lol
@@natashalaurentia2763Starscream was just stressed out. After each episode he had to moonlight as Cobra Commander at 4pm on GI Joe after Transformers. He had a lot on his mind.

@@MrKaraokeguy88 Soundwave was Megatrons general and the most loyal. Thundercracker didn't speak often and Skywarp I don't think spoke at all. Starscream was the big mouth of the three F-15 jet decepticons

I love the Decepticon trash-talk. They were dogging on each other more than the Autobots. No wonder they lost. There was some serious Autobot courage displayed in this episode. Definitely one of my top 5 favorites.
The cons never could get along and when megs was away they really was at each other's theoats
The Autobots are like real friends who joke and rib each other, meanewhile the Decepticons are actively trying to hurt each other, hence why they always fail due to their lack of trust. The Autobots know that life ain't a solitary path.
Megatron was the only one who could keep them wrangled together. Otherwise it was chaos

If I remember correctly, Thundercracker's fact files stated he was uncertain of the Decepticon cause. This episode is the only one that gives credence to this (IDW's comics do so more certainly).

The closest moment in G1 ever that Thundercracker’s bio as the doubtful Decepticon will ever come into play.

Brawn shot Megatron with his own fusion cannon. That was why Brawn was taken out first in the movie during the shuttle attack.
Ya. Brawn survived a blast to the chest by Megatron's fusion cannon, and a shot to the head by Soundwave, but one shot near the neck was enough to kill him in the movie. If anything, aside from the idea of "kill the old to replace with the new because toys", u could say they managed to upgrade their weapons to be more effective against the Autobots
@@CloudRollerFox I remember watching a director’s cut of 1986 Transformers the movie and if I remember correctly there was plot point that was dropped that involved the Autobots losing power which is why Megatron was able to kill them so easily. When Optimus transforms to go after Megatron he drives over a dam and apparently there was supposed to be some connection with the Autobots not being at full strength.
Brawn was taken out first cause he ran straight towards a bunch of cons with no weapons like really at least the rest of them fired back

One of my favorite G1 episodes, and a constant reminder why we need Brawn, and Windcharger in the Generations/legacy/ SS86 lineup for sure.
Look i'm all for new Brawn and Windcharger, but Gears needs a new toy. That poor guy had only two toys since 1984 and one of which is a repaint of generations Swerve

@@Sbungo61 They should release the ss86 toys every year. (update them a bit with a more varied weapons. for eg with SS Grimlock include his sword) G1 is the most iconic series. Its like the Transformers equivalent to Star Wars's "Original Trilogy" movies.

Brawn is My favorite mini vehicle. Pipes is after wards. Not only he had strength But lot of courage too. Funny how he survived a shot to the head. Which would have killed him right there. But in the movie. In the Comics GI Joe comics. He was vaporized By A G2 megatron. He was brave enough to take on him even after Megatron. Blew up Steeljaw & Chase, Why Brawn is my favorite. I need to get the new studio series.

Used to love Brawn with a passion. Was ready to bring it to Soundwave, Shockwave and even had Megatron calling him by name. The "minibots" (as they were nicknamed) were an awesome bunch. Brawn, Windcharger, Cliffjumper, Gears, Huffer and Bumblebee.
Could never understand why when they needed someone small they always sent Bumblebee on missions when he was clearly the weakest of the bunch. (That said, when they first land on earth Prime does send Hound and Cliffjumper to 'observe' and Cliffjumper ends up taking this massive gun out and tries to end Megatron lol, maybe Prime switched up his tactics after that).
Hurt my heart how Megatron took Brawn out with one shot in the 86 movie.

Yup they do it quite a lot, it's not even just decepticons transformers just conveniently forget that they can transform when they just opt to run or in the seekers cases fly to save themselves,in one of the side stories the Autobots I think even joke about why Starscream would climb and fall off a mountain when he could fly

Yes. They actually got a chance to shine in this episode. Especially the often unloved and underused Windcharger.
The first episode I ever watched of the series, always loved Transformers when I was a kid and discovered the original movie on a UMD for the PSP. Watched it first then realised I’d missed out on seasons 1 and 2. My old man then bought me DVDs of this series and I was hooked and became a huge fan of G1 after it! Truly a great series and holds great memories for me.

I loved seeing Braun and Windcharger have a solid role in this episode and try to take on Megatron by themselves. Braun's insults were great. Windcharger was always one of my favorite Transformers, and his toy was probably the one I played with the most. I'm still scarred from his death in the movie.

This episode was split into 5 minute chunks for UK's TV-AM Roland Rat show. I recorded it every day and watched it for YEARS. Gave me a deep love of TF's and Sunbow animation!

Love G1 Transformers Brawn was one of the strongest little autobots ranked 7 in strength. The same blast he got from Megatron in the show is exactly the same he got in the Transformers the movie, was pissed that he got killed.

Interesting. At 7:32 there is a part where Megatron says, "there's no way a midget like you..." But if you turn on the CC to see the words, the word "midget" is not there. Well at least they didn't try to censor the dialog itself.

It's a real treat watching these G1 episodes in their entirety. This is one episode where the Decepticons get their rears handed to them by the Autobots in hand-to-hand combat. Didn't happen too much in animation. More in live-action.
The dialogue is one of the best from season 1 too, especially with the various Decepticons digging at each other.
I'm pretty sure Sideswipe and Wheeljack weren't in the previous episode 'Fire in the Sky', so Skyfire shouldn't know who they are.
Question - if all it took was some drilling and heat treatment to free Skyfire, why didn't the Autobots just do that at the end of 'Fire in the Sky'?

Good point. If I was Prime, I would have sent a detail to free Skyfire straightaway. The aerial cover he provides would be too valuable to waste 😉
This was only 2-3 episodes after Skyfire grounded himself...makes sense with the time-line
Hilarious to see Optimus making Megs fall down the pyramid. Kinda reminiscent of what he did to Megs in the movie in his final battle. Seems Megs had previous experience being knocked down by Prime from a good height.
Also of course its hilarious to watch Thundercracker giving sass to Megs and Screamer at the end.

This episode was really awful & trash. What's the point of getting a powerful weapon if the Autobots are just going to win very easily anyways.
Brawn takes a fusion cannon blast to the chest and topples back, but none the worse for wear here.
Later he would take a similarly powerful blast to the shoulder and just keel over dead.
