I'm planning on a more in-depth masking video. At the moment my coal-fired GPU means one of the features crashes DT. I have a new PC on the way that should hopefully rectify that!
Nice demo of re-using masks. From a personal aesthetic viewpoint, I find the extreme highlight on the 45 degree blade of grass who's point almost touches the bottom right of the mushroom rather distracting. Also the bright pink/orange items in the bottom left. I'm guessing it would be fairly easy to tone them down. Perhaps even retouch the blade of grass? Practically, another well produced demo of a dt edit. Thank you.
oh i always thought I have to select two versions from the history stack and press "take snapshot" for each of them to view the pre/post versions. A new trick for me. Thanks.
Great video again. Thank you. A little remark on showing the snapshot. Your way is a little risky. You make a snapshot of the processed image. Then you go back in the history. When you then by accident start editting, you loose all your changes. When i use it, i go to the history and make a snapshot of that. Then i go back to the actual version and start comparing. Then i can make changes without switching again or having to make another snapshot. So make a snapshot of a version in the history, not the actual picture.
It depends how comfortable you are with photo processing in general. If you've used Lightroom you might find this one useful: th-cam.com/video/6SflKR6JYrk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=eluytqZi2wdoGBNF
@ you don’t need to confine yourself to darktable. Perhaps, show us how you take your photos, how you scope out the landscape, and also, maybe how you’d compile your photos for a photobook or something
That's a very different kettle of fish from just screen recording, requiring more time (not to mention costly equipment) than I have at hand, unfortunately. I also feel like "here's how to do landscape photography" is something of a saturated market on TH-cam - I'd just be reinventing the wheel.
Thanks for showing the before and after snapshot thing!
No problem 😄
That became an adventurous micro landscape. Nicely done.
Thank you - the masking content was particularly helpful.

I live fast and dangerously. And with my fingers on Ctrl+Z 😉
Great Videos❤ I learn a lot and it’s fun to watch. Did you tried ART ( fork of RawTherapee ) it’s has masking etc ?
I've tried RT, not a big fan of the interface.
@@DarktableLandscapes I recommend checking ART ( fork of RT ) but its different that RT similar to Darktable and Lightroom.
would just watching your videos be helpful for beginners or should I come back after doing basic tutorials?

@@DarktableLandscapes thanks
Where have you disappeared?
I'm still here!
@ Miss your videos!
Tbh I'm having trouble with new ideas - there are only so many times I can go over the same modules!
