      Organize protests and stop paying them. The consumer has the power, they just need to organize, and hold the power company for ransom. They'll get paid when they agree to your terms.

    The map Center Point Energy released last night has bad data. It shows energized lines where there is still no power and lines in the queue to be repaired where there is already power. I feel the Company is misleading the public, which could do further harm, all in an effort to put any information out to save face. They should pull this map and not mislead the public. What if a person uses the little bit of gas they have to get home because it appears they have power and when they get there they have no power and no way to refuel to leave again.

They don’t care about people who are suffering and with existing illnesses and conditions- sick. They don’t care if people have heat exhaustion and go into heat strokes. It’s well close to 100 inside the homes. Easily! Feels like an oven. Further- our future rates will be astronomically increased again. This is an enormous opportunity for some people to pad their bank accounts. Shady!!

    All this tech, gizmos, gadgetry and ways to find out who has power and who doesn't when what we actually need is for center pointless to PERMANENTLY hire more lineman repair crews and buy more service vehicles so they DON'T HAVE TO CALL UPON 12K out of town workers. There is no excuse for not hiring more people considering the power outages are occurring more and more every year.

  • @houstonsam6163
    @houstonsam6163 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

    That CenterPoint struggles to explain clearly who has power and who doesn't is inexcusable. Even the most basic facts about service - how many crews, where were they pre-positioned, where is the power working and where is it not working, when can people expect to have their power restored in one part of the city or another - evade them.
    I'm sure the line crews are competent, hard-working people in a difficult and dangerous job. But their corporate efforts to communicate to the general public are abysmally poor and further harm the company's already-amoebic credibility.

    Many of us have yet to see those extra linemen out assessing the areas. Previous storms for decades- they were on top of it. This is absolutely wrong. How can other large cities / states that deal with power outages and hurricanes 🌀 manage to show up asap and address the power outage issues successfully? (Ex. Fla.)
    This is wrong at all angles.

      @@EB-mz4nkNo. CenterPoint is our provider but I understand Entergy does handle part of the woodlands also. And no, a bunch of the woodlands area does not have power currently.
      Just an odd deal that centerpoint does not show their entire covered area. That was the point of my comment.
      Edit: the Centerpoint map does include our area of the woodlands. Have to zoom way in but it does show this section. Looks like entergy handles everything north of woodlands parkway and Centerpoint handles south of the same. Sorry for the confusion.

    And THAT is exactly why I keep a small, 2200 watt generator and a cheap 6000 BTU window unit AC in the garage. I have been without power for a week 3 times in my life, and I have learned that you at least need to be able to heat and/or cool one small room. What are the folks that don't have this during an outage in all that oppressive Texas heat gonna do??

    I just want to say to those without power to just hang in there. I know my words personally don't help your situation, but power will come back and all things will hopefully get better. These times suck. I agree with everyone in the comments. CP was completely negligent and un-prepared. I get it. We had a Hurricane come through, but they blew about 12 hours being un-prepared. Those 12 hours grow to 24 hours, then 48 hours cus the delay compounds and they have to work double, triple time to catch up.
