    With Canon Software Lide300 allows for max of 1200dpi scanning and not 2400dpi... Tip when scanning some painting or artwork - put a heavier book on the top of the lid, so that paper inside presses firmy against the glass

    • @PrintCloud
      @PrintCloud  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can scan with higher resolution of 4800dpi, see

    Thank for this review! I like how you are on point and make very concise videos! How was the connectivity? do they support wi-fi or Bluetooth or only USB? how was the quality and size of the scanned files? Thanks

    • @PrintCloud

      These scanner only work via USB, but you can define the buttons for shortcuts, like Scan to cloud

    I would love to know if you can buy that little bit of plastic separately and use the cheaper model in the upright position.

    • @PrintCloud
      @PrintCloud  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I suppose that piece of plastic could be ordered as a service part, but I am afraid you cannot fix it to LiDE300 as on the LiDE400 there is a small hole to fix with the stand.

      For photos the LiDE400, but unfortunately all the CCD models are end of life now, like CS9000F, that model was superb, but not selling anymore.

      @@PrintCloud I have about 2000 photos to scan and upload to my PC. Not HIGH quality needed, but would you day the 400 would be ok for that? Thanks, helpful review

    • @patrickwilson1440
      @patrickwilson1440 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The 300 is more than adequate as when scanning photos if you are not going to print enlarged copies of the original then you only need to scan the original at 300 dpi to print copies. If you're going to make and print enlargements of the original then your enlarged copy needs a resolution of 300 dpi to get a decent photo/ print quality. For example a 6"X4" photo( 1800 dpi x 1200 dpi) enlarged to 9"X6"( 2700 dpi x 1800 dpi)would need to scanned at 600 dpi to get a quality photo/print.

    are these two models appropriate for scanning full books ?

    • @PrintCloud
      @PrintCloud  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They are ok, you can scan books as the cover can be lifted to get thicker objects to the glass.

      @@PrintCloud In ScanGear Mode in Preferences the 300 has a silent mode so i assume the 400 would also have which i presume makes scanning quieter although there isn't much noise to start with anyway.

    So basically, if I don't need to scan 4800 dpi and fast, it's ok to buy LiDE300?

    • @PrintCloud
      @PrintCloud  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Scanning with 4800 dpi is needed only if you need extra details when you crop small part from original

    Really! You haven't mentioned what's important. You should have shown the speed and quality differences between both when scanning in color and in black and white

    • @PrintCloud
      @PrintCloud  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Tnx for the comment. Indeed the scanning for documents 300 dpi is enough, for photos about 1200 dpi, more resolution results mostly in bigger files and not so much more quality. You can see Lide400 in next videos part3 and part4.
