Thanks for showing this. I have a 1956 TEF20 and want to remove the injector/pump as you have but was worried about upsetting the timing. Is the 'cog' on the front, which you rightly say must not be moved, tight enough so that it cant move too easily if you touch or knock it?
yes. Its got resistance. Just go slow and take note of the marks on the casing like I show in the film. Remove slowly and be clinically obsessive about not moving that cog. Take your time and get it to your workbench and strip it slowly like i do in the film. Replace the same way and it will be fine. Just make sure you line up the mark on the tractor and the injector. If its not marked then stamp it with a punch so it goes back the same angle. Go for it, your be fine!!
Thanks for this, was helpful. Question: if those 'pins' in the injectors are stuck, presumably, you can carefully prize them out, lubricate them put them back in?
yes. if your refering to the four outlets ontop .. gently prise it out. Clean it and replace. Make sure its all moving inside like mine is in the film. All cleans up nicely. Im going to do a follow up on this film showing filling the oil reservoir in the bottom. It can be a bit confusing. At 1526 i refer to filling up the oil via the bung till it overflows. You dont.. it gets filled up from the big opening above till its full. I will do a follow up on this soon. That brass bung is a drain off plug not a filling plug.
At 1526 mins i explain you fill up the resevoir via the bung till it overflows. Well…. you dont , you fill it up via the big opening above it till its full. The bung is just a drain off. I am going to do a follow up on this to explain this.
