  • On a sunny day, I took the dog and the public transport to the Allianz Arena here in Munich. The walk from the U-Bahn to the Arena is phantastic, I enjoyed every minute, and so did the dog ;-)
    Have fun and enjoy!!

Hello Cycopunk, This is Gerard and I want to thank you for a quick tour of Allianz Stadium narrated in English. As a former New Yorker, I was laughing when you mentioned that you are now getting on an old train to travel to Allianz. That train was spotless. Of course not as new as your first train but still very impressively clean. Not knowing so much about "Football" in Europe, let me ask you this question. I'm 61 and my son is 30, he is a huge European Soccer/Football fan. As a surprise to him. I would like to give him a trip to Europe to see a fabulous Soccer stadium match and of course also sightsee the city the stadium is in. I would like to go with him but I have some difficulty walking. Suggest to me 3 Match Games in Europe that would be the most enjoyable for both the Match and the city where it is located. I am thinking about a 1 week stay for him and also his girlfriend, and maybe not so me. I do wish that Allianz was open for a tour by you but I understand a thing or two about security. I was a Responder to 9/11 WTC Disaster so the Terrorists in the world must always be checked. Thank You for your tour and feel free to write to my e-mail. I check that about once per week. Have a wonderful day, Love your dog, Gerard

      hey Gerard,
This train is a model like they used it when the U-Bahn opened, in 1971. For Munich, that´s old. And yeah, I´ve been to New York and used the subway a lot, so I know what you´re talking about.
As you didn´t leave your e-mail adress I have to answer here.
The 3 cities I would suggest and explain what to care about:
      1. Barcelona A wonderful city all year around and a great staduim which can hold up to 100000 people. Tickets should not be a problem right now, the team is not very good as of now. But have a look out for pickpockets at La Rambla.
      2. London A whole variety of stadiums to choose from, Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham, Fulham, West Ham and many more. i have no experience how hard it is to get tickets, but they will be expensive anyway. The city is an absolute dream, although they drive on the wrong side of the road.
      3. Rome AIf you love history a dream of a city, over 2500 years old. Tickets for AS Roma at the Stadio Olympico should not be a problem, but the italian league is not that good right now, so don´t expect a very classy game.
      4. Munich Of course I have to recommend my hometown. Great city, and you saw the Allianz arena. Tours there are possible right now, but tickets for a match are almost impossible to get if you are not a member of the club. But maybe I can help you in this case . . .
      Have a great day.too . . . Thomas

I always wanted to ask, Do they have concerts at Allianz Arena, or are most of them still at Olympic Stadium?

    • @cycopunk7778
      @cycopunk7778  2 ปีที่แล้ว

There is a deal between the City, owner of the olympic stadium, and the FC Bayern, owners of the Allianz Arena, in place, that the Allianz Arena is allowed to hold sporting Events only. The NFL will play there this year, but all big concerts are held in the olympic stadium.

Hello Cycopunk, thanks for a great video with a lot of useful information. I’m a huge FC Bayern fan from the US and have a trip planned for Oktoberfest this year. Do you have any advice or ways to buy FC Bayern tickets as an Ausländer? I’ve heard this can be very difficult. Thank you so much!

      Hey Justin,
      Thanks and you're welcome.
Yes, Tickets are not easy to get, wheather you're from germany or not is no matter. My way is always the "Zweitmarkt" where the FCB re-sells Tickets returned by season Ticket holders. For a regular game, there's always something available, but it's possible that it's restricted to members only. A membership is 60€ per year. Hope this helps🤞

The Stadium is located at the northern City limit, so you will need public transport to grt there anyway. If you want an easy ride without transfer pick any hotel close to any U6 station, because this line goes to the Arena (fröttmaning station).

None of the soccer stadiums here will hold that many people unless it's moved to a football stadium. The exterior looks a lot different than all the other stadiums I've seen.
