I'm glad she found something that make her feel better and find a way to cope with her depression. It's a different situation for everyone and everyone chooses to deal with it differently. Really some of you are being so judgmental as if a segment on a tv show has taught you all you need to know about this girl and her life.

I know exactly how she's feeling. I got depression two years ago, after I came back from my holiday in Korea, and it even went so far that I got health problems. K-pop was the only thing that helped me in that time. Their music makes me feel good about myself and gives me strength. Whenever I'm sad or I'm just having a bad day I listen to their songs or watch a show with them in it, and I'm feeling better immediately. I really can't explain how much I love all my favorite groups, but I think it's enough to say that they saved my life. Without them I wouldn't be who I am today and thanks to them I even got the strength to follow my dreams. I wish that I had the chance to meet them too, just to thank them for letting me be a part of their life.

I don't see what the big deal is with her relaying on her idols to be motivated and cheer up. We ALL rely on something ourselves to carry on and if it works, it works. I think this is nice. I was depressed and self harming too and then i found kpop and saw their funny personalities and their brightness sucked me in. It isnt exos fault and it isnt the girls fault. People will find anything to complain about and i too became obsessed with kpop after it basically saved my life. I can understand her but can see her moms point of view. I think korean moms too need to not be too tough on their kids and learn to accept more modern kpop culture.
