7367Network there’s a video of a thunderbolt dying literally 2 seconds after it activated. I’m on the TH-cam app Rn so I can’t link the video but if I remember I’ll post the link
@@Faraday1056 Here's the video he promised to show you. th-cam.com/video/V8weN-qyQ64/w-d-xo.html Turns out the siren didn't die, the sirens motor starter's heater just tripped. So, the siren isn't truly dead.
The 2900 series has smaller screens and and a slightly different internal design compared to the 2800 series. The drivers can be accessed by the EZ-Pull panels on the siren array instead of having to pull the whole thing apart, and the tube inside the cell that connects to the mouth of the driver has a bend in it to increase the voice clarity.
That's nonsense. Mechanical sirens are far more temperamental by design. The fact is that many counties assume electronic sirens don't require maintenance when they purchase them. With proper maintenance, they last just as long as any mechanical siren.
2 years ago one siren here in the city where i live, was malfunctioning. it go off for no reason , 7 times in a row. 1 minute alarm, 2 minutes pause , 1 minute alarm.. i filmed it, at the end you can here the echo.... th-cam.com/video/ZU_rTqxmiHY/w-d-xo.html
These people need to take better care of their siren !! Not that I've been the biggest fan of whelen systems, but it could definitely use some TLC
Miss the T-Bolts.....
Quinn Delonge I agree, most of the time, dunno what's happening but they just keep malfunctioning, they need to give it help.
yea, its even more crucial because they don't make these anymore. Whelen stopped making them in 2006.
@@jimmypearce9323 We've got a lot of T-Bolts up here in Upstate NY, amazing sirens
Imdone13 OFFICIAL Where? All I see around here is Whelens. And a FS 2001.
You caught it giving up the ghost on camera. Now we need to see an electromechanical siren do the same.

Elizabeth_958 it's been 4 months. Where's the link you promised

RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR-[dead]
This is why a classic 3T22 + a backup generator is so hard to beat. They don't just tip over and die like this.
Putting a backup generator on a 3T22 is easier said than done.
Whelen sirens are extremely reliable
Columbus, Ohio also likes to use Whelen. Though I did see a Thunderbolt a few years before it was replaced.
Yes, I’m very familiar with theirs although I don’t think they have many 28 or 2900s
You weren't kidding when you described Muscogee County's system as a Pandora's box opened every Saturday, were you?
it just clocks out in the middle of its attack. kinda depressing.
“Forget it, i’m done calling for help at this point.”
I would be happy with the sirens in my town, except they test once a month and are shrill whelens and sound intimidating
r.i.p whelen
At 1:55 I could here some music lol
that was another siren in attack/alert
No
battery maintenance is apparently an issue for this county.
What time does it die?
Katie Case around 6:00

How is this a malfunction?
It went "phhp" and broke.
is This the One that had a battery Explosion sometime in the Past?
HEY EVERYONE, FREE HOCKY PUCKS!!!!! Lets go grab some!
that s what i call wailing to death 5:59
Lee U bah dum tss
it's test
Are they still failing in that area after all these years? They need to either fix or replace them!
REPLACE THEM WITH A THUNERBOLT
So is Columbus, Georgia basically the Saint Joe County Indiana of the south?
hey dj2226 just wondering, what's your favorite Whelen controller and Why? mine is the 435hz 2020
your the one who made battry explods on a whelen wps 2810 columbus, ga 4/25/2015
team 13 this is actually that same siren
What is with your spelling my dude
Uhhhhh, someone fetch me the Rosetta Stone, this guy's speaking hieroglyphics.
Aww, poor poobah! Did they ever replace it?
Hey Dj2226, what's the difference between a 29xx and a 28xx?

DJ2226 ok, thanks!
Did this replace the malfunctioning tbolt
is it supposed to sound like a depressed wind instrumet?
Yes, but this thing dies in the middle of the attack signal. It’s just awful.
That voice announcement reminds me of that voice that Roblox sirens used, I think
St the end of the test did the siren give up or is it part of the test???
Sorry I spelled wrong
why would a siren dieing be part of the test? yes it gave up the speakers were strained and gave out
Nope it kicked the bucket.
This is why I don't like whelens or electric sirens. They malfunction a lot more compared to allertors or thunderbolts.
You hear this guy Whelen?! Give your sirens a much needed software update!
America needs 2001 130s, Model 2s, all of the mechanical sirens you got, Federal!
That's nonsense. Mechanical sirens are far more temperamental by design. The fact is that many counties assume electronic sirens don't require maintenance when they purchase them. With proper maintenance, they last just as long as any mechanical siren.
But they're not as loud, compare a Whelen Vortex to a P50
Needs new controller?
No. A new controller wouldn't make a difference. It's a combination of probably dying batteries and radio issues.
in america the nuke siren is used in NZ as a fire sound
wow it is really milfuntioning
Lima Railfan Productions By the way nice Profile Picture
malfunctioning*
The battery is dying
Albert .J I was thinking the same
Has Columbus ever had a successful test 😂
gubblethrip Yes it has in fact... If you come to Columbus OH XD.
butt wait that's the one that the battery exsploted that's why it's malfunctioning
R.I.P whelen :c that's is sad
I can hear the highlow and wail from the thunderbolts
